In order to achieve Excellency in the game of Gymnastics, more emphasis needs to be paid on the sub-junior section of gymnasts. There is famous and well known phrase Catch Them Young. It is true in order to get best results; we should strictly follow the phrase. Gymnastics Federation of India proposes to divide sub-junior competition into age group competition as is prevalent in most of the countries advanced in the game of Gymnastics. GFI proposes to hold the competition for Sub-junior group in the following age groups from the year 2010 11. (i) Cadet Boys Above 8 to 10 years (ii) Mini Boys Above 10 to 12 Years (iii) Sub-Junior Boys Above 12 to 14 Years Prepared & Drafted by MTC, GFI & Expert MAG, 1/1/11 Page 2 2. Cut of date for Age Group will be 31 st December. For Example Gymnasts born up to 31 st December in the following years will be eligible to participate in the Championship for the year 2010-11 even though the competition is organized after 31 st December, 2010. Boys 10 Years - Boys 12 Years - Boys 14 Years - Born in 2000 to 2002 Born in 1998 to 1999 Born in 1996 to 1997

Gymnasts cannot participate in the Higher or Lower age Group then that of his own. 5. Requirement will be considered full fill if higher valued element of the same group is performed. 6. RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SUB JUNIOR GIRLS GROUP (UNDER 12 YEARS) NAME OF THE GROUP- Girls Sub Junior Group (under 12 years) TEAM COMPOSITION A team for Girls Sub-junior Group will comprise of a maximum 6 gymnasts from one State/ Unit. COMPETITIONS The following 3 competitions will be conducted: 1. Competition I- (Team Competition): All the gymnasts would participate in Competition-I. Competition-I will serve as: -- Qualification Competition for Competition-II. -- Qualification Competition for Competition-III. -- To decide Team Championships. A team will comprise of 6 gymnasts. All the five gymnasts will participate in Team Competition Out of the five, the best 4 performances on each apparatus will be considered to decide Team Competition 2. Competition II (Individual Apparatus Finals): The best 24 girls from the results of competition I with 2 reserve gymnasts will be selected for Competition II. There should not be more than 2 gymnasts from one State/Units. A State /Unit may replace an injured Gymnast from the same State/ Unit only if the replacement Gymnast obtained a higher qualifying score than the Ist named reserve.
