President s Perspective Hello, As Fall approaches, it brings crisp mornings and changing leaves, as well as excitement for National Convention and visions for next year. I am thrilled, that as a club, we continue to show support for our members and all levels of competitions. The sponsorship of the 4-H State Horse show is a great way to try and get new members. The other great thing is helping provide horses for the Judging contest. Both of these events are close to me, as I had participated and was successful with both. I hope to be able to gather at least 3 to 4 youth to compete in the Arabian National Judging and Hippology contest this year in the end of October. One area that I see, as a club, to improve is our member numbers. We are one of the oldest clubs in Region 10, but that means that many of our members are not as active in the horse industry anymore. Let s try to reach 40 members that are active. This means only a few more members that we would need to add. As a club, we offer many different ways to become active. I encourage everyone to try and become a part of a committee or take on a new role in the club. This could be as simple as competing at one of our shows, volunteering, or becoming an Officer or Board of Director. I hope to see everyone in October at our Trail ride and meeting. This is a great way to see the beauty of fall on horseback. If you are unable to join for the trail ride, meet afterwards for the meeting! Kaitlyn Frenchick 4

2018 NMAHA Queen Message Hello! It s hard to believe summer is already almost over! It s been another great show season for our club! Our open show was a great success despite the poor weather and we incorporated a wonderful new award program for our May shows with beautiful belt buckles! The royalty was a huge help passing out ribbons and helping with gate duty at both shows and participated in the Litchfield Watercade parade in an effort to spread the word about the great Arabian horse. They also did a wonderful job helping to raise funds for the June show. I am looking forward to fall and our annual meeting and trail ride at Kathio state park next month! I plan to ride my cute little pinto mare Hattie again and I hope to see many of our members there with their horses as well! Enjoy the rest of your summer and the start of the fall season!
