DICKERSON IN FOGELMAN Tulane has a record of 40-22 (.645) at Fogelman Arena and a mark of 25-12 (.676) against non-conference teams in New Orleans under Dave Dickerson, including a 3-4 mark this season. FOGELMAN MAGIC Tulane has won a combined 34 games on its home fl oor the last three-plus seasons, including 10+ win campaigns in each of the last three years. The Wave reached the 10- win plateau for the third straight season and fi nished with a 10-5 mark a year ago and was 11-4 at home in 2006-07 and 10-6 in 2007-08. Tulane is 3-4 at home this season. DICKERSON IN 5TH CAMPAIGN Tulane head coach Dave Dickerson is in his fi fth season at the helm of the Green Wave basketball program and has an overall record of 65-70, including the 5-8 mark this season. TIMMONS RETURNS The Green Wave will regain the services of Kendall Timmons after the fi rst year player was lost for the majority of the 2008-09 season with a back injury. Prior to being sidelined, Timmons averaged 5.4 points per contest, but was coming on strong after posting a career-best 18 points on the road at George Mason. He played injured in the next game against Binghamton and did not return. RICHARD DOUBLES UP LAMAR Kris Richard, playing in front of his hometown crowd in Beaumont, Texas, collected his fi rst career double double with 15 points and 12 rebounds is a loss to Lamar on Jan. 2, 2010. The 12 boards marked a career-high for the junior guard and the 15-point performance was the 10th time he reached double fi gures in scoring this season. HOLMES DOUBLES UP AGAINST VCU Junior forward Aaron Holmes recorded his fi rst career double double and the fi rst for Tulane this season with a game-high 18 points and 10 rebounds against VCU on Dec. 19. DAVE DICKERSON Head Coach 65-70 Fifth Season Dave Dickerson is in his fi fth season as the head coach on the Uptown campus, and has an overall record of 65-70 and a Conference USA mark of 28-34. Tulane is 3-2 all-time in season openers under Dickerson. Named the 2008 National Association of Basketball Coaches District 8 Coach of the Year. Tulane has a record of 40-22 (.645) at Fogelman Arena and a mark of 25-12 (.675) against non-conference teams in New Orleans under Dickerson. Has a record of 4-4 in the Conference USA Tournament and has never lost a fi rst round game (4-0). Picked up his 50th career win over Maine, 66-56, and coached in his 100th career game at TU in a 81-55 victory over North Carolina A&T. Registered his 40th career win (at Tulsa) a little over midway through his third season (76 games) and joined Clifford Wells (67 games), Charles Moir (71 games), Ned Fowler (61 games) and Perry Clark (84 games) as the only coaches in the 97-year history of Tulane basketball to win 40 games in under three seasons. The 76 games are the fourth fewest games in school history needed to attain 40 wins, and he currently ranks seventh for career coaching victories. Under his tutelage, three Green Wave players have earned all-conference honors, including All-Conference USA third-team performers Quincy Davis (2006) and David Gomez (2007, 2008), and Kevin Sims, who was selected to the All C-USA Freshman team in 2007. During his second season, Dickerson led Tulane to a 17-13 overall record and TU recorded its best conference fi nish in nine years with a 9-7 league mark, which was good enough for fourth place. TU s 17 victories marked the most wins in seven seasons and the program s fi rst winning season in four years. Dickerson s 29 wins in his fi rst two seasons puts him in third place for the most wins by a Tulane coach in the fi rst two seasons. Became the 22nd head men s basketball coach in Tulane history on April 1, 2005. Despite the challenges brought on by Hurricane Katrina, Dickerson led Tulane to a 12-17 overall record and a 6-8 Conference USA mark, which tied the Wave for sixth place. Dickerson came to Tulane from alma mater of Maryland, where he spent nine years as an assistant under Gary Williams. In 2004-05, he was the program s associate head coach. He helped the Terrapins to nine straight postseason appearances, fi ve Sweet Sixteens, two Final Fours and one National Championship in 2002. Accolades for Dickerson have included his recognition as an AFLAC Assistant Coach of the Year in 2003, the ACC s No. 1 Assistant Coach as named by Basketball News (2003-04), Athlon Sports No. 4 Assistant Coach in the nation (2003-04), and an Assistant Coach on the Rise as tabbed by ESPN s Andy Katz. A native of Olar, S.C., Dickerson is married to the former Laurette Newsom, a 1991 graduate of Maryland. The couple has one son, Dave III (9).
