RULES AND CONDITIONS FOR SATURDAY, 27 AND SUNDAY, 28 AUGUST 2016 1. This competition is registered with FNQRCHDI C08/16 & C09/16, and will be conducted under the rules and conditions as set down by SOBHD and as adopted by ABHDI. 2. Dancers must be registered and present their registration card on day of competition. 3. Dancers are to compete in their own age group and one classification only. 4. Age will be taken as at date of competition. Where age is in dispute, registration card must be produced. 5. Age groupings for sections will be decided on receipt of entries. 6. Competitors must use the official music and swords provided by the committee. 7. Organiser Leanne Evans (0400 932 346) to be notified IMMEDIATELY of a change of classification; if a dancer is unable to compete after submitting an entry. 8. Entries must be accompanied by entry fees and no entries will be accepted after the closing date. 9. Dancers arriving late for a section will not be allowed to compete if the dance has been completed. Alternatively, competitors may not pre-dance prior to the commencement of a section. 10. No warm-up or practicing is permitted inside the hall whilst dancers are competing. 11. Dancers to observe the ABHDI direction competitors should be modestly attired at all times. 12. It is a directive of the ABHDI that dancers use dressing rooms to change costumes and dress fully, appropriately and respectably when in public at competitions. 13. PRE-PREMIER - Eligibility for Pre-Premier section will apply as at date of competition and shall be in accordance with SOBHD registration scheme. 14. Dancers must fill in if requested by the Organiser. If a competitor fails to fill in unless for a medical reason the Organiser has the right to enforce Rule 1g, Page 42 D-Judges, SOBHD Rules and Regulations, which reads: Provided due prominence is given to the fact in the program or in a brochure by the Organiser, then during the course of a competition the comportment of the competitors may come under the jurisdiction of the judges, not only whilst dancing, but also when entering or leaving the platform and whilst waiting for the dance to start. Any unseemly behaviour on the part of a competitor or any misdemeanour likely to upset the decorum of the proceedings may be penalised by the judges and could lead to disqualification, but a full report of any such misconduct on the part of a competitor must be submitted by the judges to the Organiser. 15. The use of electronic devices of any kind to record competing dancers will NOT be permitted. 16. Any complaint made by an individual against the organisation or the adjudication of an event must be in writing stating the complainant's full name and address and be lodged with the organiser, if possible on the day of the event, and no later than 48 hours after the event. Such a complaint is to be accompanied by a fee of $5.00, which is refundable if the protest is upheld. 17. Subject to the official protest ruling, the Judge s decision is final. 18. Scrutineering system for Championships, Titles and Aggregates awards will be as per the SOBHD Constitution. 19. All placegetters in Championships are to be dressed in kilt for trophy presentation. 20. For presentation of prizes on stage, dancers must be in kilt or national costume. Competitor s number must be worn. 21. TITLES Dancers may choose not to compete in all dances that make up the title and still be eligible for an overall title prize, however, the full title fee still applies. 22. All Perpetual Trophy winners will be required to sign for these trophies and must abide by the stated conditions as laid out in the terms and conditions document provided at the competition. 23. Dancers under 18 and all other children are the responsibility of parents or guardians at all times and should be appropriately supervised throughout the competition by them or another nominated adult. 24. First to enter, last to dance. 25. The committee reserves the right to appoint substitute adjudicators and/or alter the program at any time. 26. Teachers, interested parties or any other unauthorised person must not communicate with judges during a competition. All enquiries must be made at the official table. 27. Dancers compete entirely at their own risk. 28. Any rules pertaining to competitions released from SOBHD or ABHDI from time of printing this schedule and actual date of competition will be adhered to.
