Dressage Ring Familiarization Saturday August 1 st, 2015 SATURDAY AUGUST 1 ST, 2015 OAKHURST HORSE TRIALS Dressage Ring Familiarization 10am 7pm the Dressage rings and dressage warm up area will be set for Oakhurst Horse Trials competitors to school in. Get a jump on the competition by ensuring that your horse has had an opportunity to work in and around the dressage area that will be used the following day. NCHTA Points Qualifier SUNDAY AUGUST 2ND, 2015 OAKHURST HORSE TRIALS Horse Trial Divisions include: Intermediate/Preliminary, Preliminary, Training, Pre-Training, Entry, Pre-Entry All Phases of each Division will run on the Sunday. BFL Canada Cross Country Style Award All Phases of all Divisions will run on the Sunday Competitor and Volunteer Party! Oakhurst Horse Trials is a National Capital Horse Trials Association Points Qualifier as well as a BFL Canada Cross Country Style Award Participant Stabling available on-site from Friday Monday inclusive for $100 or $50 per night. Competitor and Volunteer Party! Competitors and Volunteers get one ticket for free. More tickets are available from the Secretary for $15 each

Meet our Guest Speakers! Ozzie Sawicki, ChPC Ozzie Sawicki is a Canadian Chartered Professional Coach who has been involved from entry-level recreational sport delivery through to world-leading high performance sport at the national and international level for over 25 years. In Salt Lake City in 2002, Ozzie was Para-Alpine Head Coach of the alpine team that won 12 medals of the total 15 earned by Team Canada at those Games. Most recently, Ozzie was incredibly proud to serve as Team Canada s Chef de Mission for the 2014 Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, where Canada met its goal of being top-3 in the world in gold medal count -- finishing third with seven gold, two silver, and seven bronze medals. Peter Gray As a competitor Peter has competed at most international events in Europe and North America including three Olympic Games, World Championships and is a Pan Am individual bronze medalist. As a level 4 Eventing Coach and a Coach Evaluator Peter has a depth of knowledge from both coach and rider points of view. Former Canadian Team coach and Ontario Young Riders Coach, Peter Gray is currently the Chair of the Canadian Eventing Committee. Kara Edwards Kara Edwards is an equine insurance broker for the Eastern Ontario region with BFL CANADA, the official insurance provider for the OEF and Equine Canada. Kara is also an Equine Canada Certified Competition Coach, has an honors Bachelor Degree in Bio-Resource Management specializing in Equine Management through the University of Guelph, and a Master s degree in Education- Curriculum Studies through the University of Western Ontario. Kara s foundation in the equine industry has been facilitated through positions including Assistant Director of riding camps, barn management and coaching. Kara s owns two horses and competes in Eventing, including at NCHTA events. She is working on developing her insurance education by taking courses to achieve her CIP designation.
