Awards Fairmont St Andrews was awarded International Resort of the Year 2009 by Hotel Review Scotland. Voted in the Condé Nast Traveler readers' poll as 18th in the World's Top 100 Golf Resorts. The Kittocks Par 72, 7400 yards Although it was designed by Bruce Devlin, on the 1st of October 2008 it changed its name from The Devlin to The Kittocks. Its new name was taken from an area of land on the course that is inhabited by a family of deer. The protected area comes into view on several holes and provides abundant wildlife to be seen, including pheasants, rabbits, hares, deer, grouse and badgers. This American styled layout is a must play Championship course with water hazards, well manicured fairways, plenty bunkers and a good mix of Par 4's and 5's. Kingsbarns Golf Links Par 72, 7152 yards No trip to St Andrews would be complete without experiencing a round on Kingsbarns Golf Links. A must play Championshipcourse which will leave you with lasting memories before you even set foot on the first tee. The site of the course has long been known for its intimate connection with the sea. The fact that its golf origins date back to 1793 is testimony to the attributes of the site. Kingsbarns is part of the tradition of excellence set by the Alfred Dunhill Cup which was played over the Old Course for 16 years prior to the now Alfred Dunhill Links. Castle Course Par 71, 6759 yards This must play Links course is set on a dramatic cliff-top location with stunning views over St Andrews Bay out to the North Sea & beyond. The Castle Course is the 7th course at the Home of Golf, capping an unparalleled history dating back six centuries to when the game was first played on the Old Course. A challenging yet enjoyable golfing experience with specially designed tee complexes and undulating greens. The clubhouse sits unobrusively within a beautiful setting and the design was inspired by the land and sea. The Torrance Par 72, 7039 yards Fairmont s Torrance course was the regional qualifying venue for the 2010 Open Championship held at St Andrews, as well as the host to two European Tour events. It s so easy to see why The Torrance course was selected for the Scottish Seniors Open in August 2009. Designed by the late Gene Sarazen and Sam Torrance, it sweeps its way around the Fairmont Hotel and down to the coastal edge with a deceptive back nine with holes such as the 15th, being a tricky Par 3 card wrecker! Buggies are not allowed on the cousre unless driven by a caddy.
