Bonneville Youth Soccer League Minutes: June 5, 2014 Board Members: Jamie Prestwich, Dee Tigue, Dan Beck, Jason Lance, Julie Nawrocki, Judy Brower, Scott Staker, Bobbi Tracy Other Attendees: Mark Oliver, Pete Nawrocki, Heather Silverman Dee Tigue moved that we approve the May minutes, Jason Lance seconded. Passed Unanimously Director of Coaching: a. Replacement of DOC Charlie Brizzee is stepping down as DOC as he is moving. Heather Silverman has agreed to take the duties of DOC. Judy Brower moved that Heather Silverman be approved as the DOC, Scott Staker seconded and the motion was approved unanimously. b. Modification of Rules and Regulations Language in 5.a: The Board has responsibility for screening and providing approval of all coaches. Coaches may participate in any league program they desire, provided they meet the league s criteria for that program. 1. The board will begin approving coaches prior to tryouts as announced by the Board by email and/or posting to byslsoccer.org. for Spring play in September. 2. The board will begin approving coaches for Fall play in April. Scott Staker motioned to approve the changes as listed and Judy Brower seconded this. The motion passed unanimously c. Scott Ferrara Xtreme U-18/19 Girls Rachel Morgan (Head), Robert Woodhouse (asst), Odyssey U-15 Boys *A motion was made to approve the coaches listed above for the Spring 2015 season by Judy Brower, the motion was seconded by Bobbi Tracy, the motion passed unanimously. * Judy Brower made a motion to approve Jade Siddoway as a coach for the Spring 2014 season for the Renegade U-16 Boys Team, Dan Beck called for a second. There was no second, the motion failed. Heather Silverman, DOC, will email Jade Siddoway to notify him that he was not approved to coach for the Spring 2015. B. Junior High Program: a. Coaches Nominated to Head Junior High Teams Eagle Rock Boys- Rocky Mountain Boys- Sandcreek Boys- Taylorview Boys- Teri Kotanski Eagle Rock Girls- Mark Oliver Rocky Mountain Girls- Jeremey Christensen Sandcreek Girls- Paul Wood Taylorview Girls- Bobbi Tracy Dee Tigue made a motion to approve the coaches brought forth for the Junior High Program. Jason Lance seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Note: Jr. High Coaches, if your team is NOT registered by Wednesday, August 20, 2014, your team will not play and each game you miss until the team is registered will count as a forfeit--loss. C. U12 Program : a. Replacement of U12 Director Terersa Keim has announced that she is stepping down as U12 Director as all of her kids are now out of the program. Trina Kauer has agreed to take the duties of U12 Director. Motion made by Jason Lance to approve Trina Kauer as the U12 Director, Seconded by Bobbi Tracy, she was approved unanimously and will take over as the U-12 Director. Jamboree will be August 11, coaches meeting August 13, and practices can start August 16. D. YDP Program - YDP is done, Dan gave out medals that were in the storage closet. The season is over but went fine. We are going to table YDP redevelopment discussions until a later date. Dan will be the YDP director in the Fall. E. Treasurer a. Proposed Changes in Fees: i. A modest increase in fees will be proposed for the Board s approval for the upcoming seasonal year. (U6=$50 (no change); U8/U10=$60 (+$10); U11/U12=$75 (+$10); Jr. High=$90 (+$10); Club=$120/$125 (+$20)). ii. Budget for next year. We have not raised the upper club fee for over 5 years. We are asking that the scholarship fee be increased to $50 instead of $38.75. The $11.25 would then go to BYSL, and the $38.75 for the State.
iii. We have not rectified for the IYSA account and the referees have not been paid, and we have not paid for the fields. After those expenses come out we will be around $20 k. iv. Motion to approve the fees increase by Judy Brower seconded by Bobbi Tracy. F. Shootout 60 teams, $7000 was our net after expenses. Shoot out was a success. Jamie is officially resigning from the tournament director. G. Website-N/A H. Equipment- We are looking for an equipment director. Field issues: Dan met with Greg Wetzel and they are going to limit the use of the fields N1-N4. They are putting up score boards on N1 & N2 because the state tournament will be here this year. There will be a Dean Cook Memorial Field on N1. The city is considering renumber the fields 1-12. Far Post Far Post is in its final stages of being completed. Once final approvals are made at the BYSL Monthly meeting, it can go out. The Far Post will be out the week of June 9 th. It will have LOTs of info in it; i.e., High School, Jr. High, U12, & YDP dates. Also a new BYSL Director of Coaching and U12 Director will be named. Charlie Brizzee and Teresa Keim have both stepped down from their respective leadership roles. BYSL would like to thank them for their many years of service, and wishes them the best as they continue on with their future endeavors. The next Far Post is scheduled to come out in September. DII- Peter Stilling has been appointed as the NEW District II Referee Administrator (DRA). WELCOME ABOARD - PETER STILLING Many of you have known Peter for years. While others, have heard the name mentioned in several settings. Peter has served Idaho Youth Soccer Association (IYSA) & USSF in many capacities; including; USSF Emeritus National Referee; USSF State Instructor & USSF State Assessor; as well as a mentor, coach, & player. His goal for IYSA District II DRA is to assist, guide, support, and grow our referees here in our district. He s looking forward to working with the referees in our area. Peter has already been at work; watching several of our referees do matches recently, & his first E- Instruction is on Standards of Dress and Appearance. Part of this article will be posted in the upcoming Far Post; however, the full article has been posted on the BYSL website. J. There are several camps and clinics in IF that the district has been invited too: including Goal Keeper Training, hosted by Ryan Cook. The ISU/OSC Soccer Camp, welcoming players of all levels to be coached by Allison Gibson, the ISU Womens Soccer Coach and with an USSF National A License. ALL are encouraged to attend. K. IYSA- Yellowstone Cup June 12 th, July 12 th, Craig Warner, Director of Operations will come meet with the affiliates. L. Unfinished Business- Ryan Cook expressed his thanks a gratefulness for BYSL and the Soccer Communities support after the death of his father. M. New Business- Tryouts in June: Bobbi will get the chart for play-ups and ages. Dan will ask Cheri for the registration information and then forward it to Tuesday (15 & 16): Julie, Scott, Judy and Dan
