Central as Detroit suffered a late-inning defeat in Chicago, keeping KC s lead in the division at one-half game. COMMISH IN TO PAY VISIT--Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred will be at Kauffman Stadium today, on his tour of all parks in this, his first year on the job...he will speak briefly to the Royals players and coaches this morning and meet with the media in the Level One Interview Room at 11:45 a.m...manfred officially took his post on January 25 of this year after serving as the Chief Operating Officer under previous Commissioner, Bud Selig, who retired after last season. FOURTH RUBBER MATCH ON TAP--Kansas City and Cleveland will play the rubber game of this three-game series today, the fourth for the Royals in their last six series...kc is 1-2 in series-deciding games thus far, most recently dropping a 5-3 decision to the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field on April 26...the Royals won their only rubber match at Kauffman Stadium, a 4-2 come-from-behind victory over Oakland on April 18. TWO OUTS? NO PROBLEM--It shouldn t come as a shock that all three Kansas City runs were scored with two outs last night, as the Royals have made a habit of scoring when down to their last out of an inning...kc has tallied 45 percent of their runs (61 of 136) with two down...the club has scored more two out runs than any other team in baseball, while it also leads the Majors in two-out batting average (.303), hits (95), RBI (59), slugging (.465), while KC is third in on-base pct. (.360)...the Royals have also produced the best batting average (.322) in the big leagues with two outs and runners in scoring position...individually, Lorenzo Cain is the top two-out hitter in the American League, batting.483 (14-for-29) with four extra-base hits, while Kendrys Morales is tied for the A.L. lead in hits (15) and runs (13), after cracking a two-out, two-run homer last night...while catcher Salvador Perez has 12 two-out RBI, which are tied for second-most in the bigs. HOCHEVAR REINSTATED FROM D.L.--The Royals announced this morning that right-handed pitcher Luke Hochevar has been reinstated from the 15-day disabled list for this afternoon s game...hoch, 31, missed the entire 2014 season after having Tommy John surgery during Spring Training. He was one of the best setup men in the American League in 2013, ranking third in opponents batting average (.169), sixth in ERA (1.92) and tied for sixth among A.L. relievers with 82 strikeouts...in a corresponding move, the Royals optioned left-handed pitcher Brandon Finnegan to Double-A Northwest Arkansas.
