PRESIDENT'S NOTES Well it's that time again, time to have another class and meeting for the NLA. This upcoming class is on Basic Impressioning Techniques, taught by Jim Watt. He is a great guy and a wealth of information, if you remember he taught the tubular lock servicing class last year. The class is in Norfolk Ne and remember to bring your swap meet stuff on Friday night. I don't have too many more announcements I'll trust you to read the rest of the class information provided. Don't forget to contact me for class reservations and the hotel. Please reserve your seat earlier than later so I can send ALOA a complete class list before the class. Watt, CML,CPS Professional Impressioning Techniques Jim being one of the finer instructors has taught for NLA before Student requirements: Small vice grips, Impressioning file if you have one, clamp on vice, and Impressioning Glasses if needed. Impressioning of pin tumbler and disc tumbler locks is the one of a few skills that are Indigenous to Locksmithing. This class will cover the theory and techniques used to Impression a working key from various types of locks. The student will become familiar with the tools and terminology used in Impressioning. Students will have hands on instruction and practice on all types of locks, including pin And disc tumbler. The student will also learn to recognize some of the hazards of Impressioning certain locks. The information presented will be useful in preparing for PRP Section L-00 after the regular class is finished. PRP will cost $15.00 for anyone that wishes to take it. James M. Watt, CML, CPS Jim started locksmithing in Seattle in May of 1975 and subsequently moved to Missoula, MT To work for Art & Ray s Lock and Safe. In November of the same year and ultimately purchased Art & Ray s in 1976. In 1977 Jim joined ALOA. In 1984, Jim co-founded the Montana Locksmith Assoc. and served as its first President. In 1987, Jim was elected to the ALOA board of Directors and served as a Director and then as Northwest Vice President of ALOA until 1997. Always concerned with education of the locksmith, Jim, an ALOA ACE Certified Instructor has developed and taught numerous courses covering Impressioning, Picking, Tubular Key Locks, Basic Locksmithing, Basic safe Servicing, Basic & Advanced Master Keying In many States. He is a recipient of the Lee Rognon award, and the Philadelphia Award. Maximum seating in class is 30 students. Call Ryan Andersen and confirm your seat. Nebraska Locksmith Association Minutes for April 30, 2011 Meeting opened at 8:04 A.M. by Ryan Andersen, President. Minutes of previous meeting was read by Charles Ward, Secretary. Motion to accept as read was made by Bernard Dobesh. It was seconded by John Firestine. Treasurer s report was read by Josh Seybert, Treasurer. New Business: Third Class for 2012 can be a class by E.L. Reinhardt on Simplex locks with a prepaid $175.00 fee but You get to keep the lock. Discussion on Licensing was talked about. Bruce Nemeck applied for membership from Ogallala, NE. Announcement for Jim Reiter s auction on May 1, 2011 (for following Sunday morning) at 8:00 A.M. Motion to close was made at 8:35 by Don Tracy. Omaha, NE, April, 2011 Alternative Entry Techniques Instructor Roy Watters, CRL CPS. As you can see there was safes to drill and lots of education. Everyone commented on how great the class was. Roy Watters showed screen presentations. Everyone got acquainted with what is out in the field. President Ryan Andersen is reading off the numbers for the people to win door prizes. Josh Sebert is drawing. Bernard Dobesh checking over a new cap. I bet he won that. Floyd Robley is sitting off to his right.

First row is John Firestine and to his right Is Sharon Gregory with Dennis to his right and Rich Taedter, and Don Tracy. It was a real nice class room and no one was crowded. It is nice when the class room is filled. Sharon Gregory, Dennis Gregory,and Rich Taedter. She works with her husband Dennis for Rich s Lock shop in Gering, NE. Shane Carroll and to his right is Jon Lyster. Jon and Shane both do specialized safe work.
