NETBALL COMPETITIONS There are a number of competition opportunities for your school to get involved with, whether you just want to start off small and hold intracompetitions between year groups in your own school or compete against other schools. Check out the school games and the England Netball competition information below to help get you started. ENGLAND NETBALL SCHOOLS COMPETITION All England Netball member schools are invited to enter the National Schools competition. It is a huge competition which starts in October of each year, which begins at a county round (or an area round in larger counties) and finishes with a national champion. Every county hosts a competition for schools at U14, U16 and U19 age groups and the winners together with the runners up from each county are then invited to a regional schools competition. The winners and runners up for each age category will go on to represent their region at the National Schools Finals held in March. To find out how your school can enter the 2015/16 competition please contact your local Netball Development Officer or visit www.englandnetball.co.uk/ competitions/2014-15/nationalschools_95 for more information COMING SOON England Netball will be launching a new U19 Open Competition in 2015 for schools, colleges and clubs. Look out for more details on our website soon. 4

LEADERSHIP IN YOUR SCHOOL We have two courses designed specifically to be delivered in schools by teachers; 1. YOUNG NETBALL ORGANISER A 6-hour course which offers young people the opportunity to take the first step into netball coaching, officiating or administration. It prepares them to organise safe, enjoyable and purposeful Netball sessions, under the supervision of a teacher or coach. 2. YOUTH UMPIRE AWARD This course introduces the principals of umpiring and the rules of netball and can be delivered by a teacher. It is ideal for students who want to get involved in officiating and get involved at school or officiate at the School Games. If you have students who are volunteering either in school or the community then Pass on Your Passion is a great way for them to record what they have been doing and be recognised by England Netball with some great rewards. PASS ON YOUR PASSION England Netball wants to recognise your pupils volunteering hours and the Pass on your Passion programme lets them log their hours and get loads of netball goodies as a reward! We already have 2900 young people registered. Visit www.englandnetball.co.uk/my-game/schools/ Leadership_In_Schools section for more information 6
