Newsletter Friday, 21 September 2018 From the Principal s Desk COLOUR FUN RUN A fantastic finish to the term with our colour fun run fundraiser. Everyone had a great afternoon and enjoyed getting wet and covered in colour. Thank you to everyone who helped with the organisation and anyone who sponsored students. Yet another great activity organised by the P & C. HOLIDAYS The end of another term and a big thank you to all of those who have contributed to supporting Students at Blair State School. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday ready to take on the final term of the year. Please remember that school starts Monday, 08 October 2018. PREP We are still able to take quite a few more preps for 2019, if you know anyone looking to enrol for Prep, please have them contact admin. A big thank you to the Prep Teachers, Mrs Jones and Mrs Eid for helping with the Prep Information night on Wednesday evening. REMINDER - CLASSES 2019 Parents with any special requests for classes in 2019 are asked to contact admin via phone or email. We cannot promise that we can meet all requests, but we will try our hardest to accommodate the majority of requests received where possible. As I have said in previous years, arranging classes is one of the most complicated processes and involves multiple levels of complexity. Consideration has to be given to what is best educationally and emotionally for all children. We do not take this process lightly and it is impossible to make everyone happy. Address: Cribb Street Sadliers Crossing Qld 4305 Phone: 3813 8555 Fax: 3813 8500 Email: admin@blairss.eq.edu.au Office Hours 8.15 am - 3.45 pm Student Absence Phone: 3813 8555 Press 1 Changes to Contact Details If your contact details have changed, please email admin@blairss.eq.edu.au Tuckshop Phone: 3813 8550 Payments Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays 8.15 am - 11.15 am P & C Meetings Held the second Tuesday of each month at 6.30 pm Email: pandc@blairss.eq.edu.au Outside School Hours Care Phone: 3813 8560

From the Principal s Desk continued... I have also told the story many times where two friends may make opposing requests. One parent wants the children together in the same class and the other wants the children separated. This is a no-win situation for us as someone will be disappointed. Neither parent wants to tell the other of their choice as they do not want to ruin the friendship. So whatever outcome eventuates, be considerate and avoid an embarrassing situation. Additionally, if parents know they will not be with us in 2019 then please contact admin as class numbers will be tight and this will help us better plan for the new classes next year. If you are aware of families moving into the Blair catchment who intend on enrolling students at Blair please get them to contact us so spaces can be made in classes for 2019. Peter Lund Principal
