The Extension sponsored 4-H youth programs must comply with provisions of the Texas Educational Code in order for the 4-H program to maintain status of an extracurricular organization. When 4-H members participate in competitive events or when a member is participating in any 4- H event that will require him/her to be absent from school, the Extension Agent must submit a written request to the appropriate school official prior to the activity. The school will determine if the students are eligible for participation and notify the agent. If parents have any questions they should contact the school administration.
