DIRECTIONS TO FIELDS AND FENCES Exit the Tri-State Tollway (I-94) at Route 132 (Grand Avenue) west. Pass Gurnee Mills Mall and go north on Hunt Club Road. Fields & Fences is on the west side of Hunt Club Road just south of Stearns School Road. fieldsandfences.com ARRIVAL Stalls are available on Thursday. No early arrivals. All horses entering the grounds must be accompanied by a negative coggins for Equine Infectious Anemia within the prior 12 months and proof of Rhinopneumonitis (Rhino/flu) vaccination within 6 months of entering stables. See USEF rule number: GR845 for complete rule. BEDDING Bedding must be purchased from Fields and Fences, $10 per bag, as it must be a specific type of shavings to meet local environmental requirements. When considering bedding costs, be aware that it includes the expense of delivery, clean-up and disposal. STALLS Show management will assign stalls on a first come, first served basis in the order in which entries are received. NO STALLS WILL BE CHANGED without management approval. Show management has the right to limit the number of tack stalls to provide stalls for horses. All reserved stalls must be paid for whether used or not. All checks returned by the bank and having to be resubmitted will be subject to a $50 fee charged by IASPHA. CURRENT IASPHA MEMBERSHIP January 1-December 31, 2018 Exhibitors (defined as owners, riders and trainers) must be current members of IASPHA. Membership applications will be available at horse show office or on our website at iaspha.com. Non-members may choose to pay a $35 non-member fee per show weekend. CHOOSE A or B SEASON TROPHY POINTS Exhibitors must declare in advance whether their IASPHA show wins receive A circuit or B circuit season trophy points on the IASPHA, Mid-America, IHPBEA and ASAW high point systems. Undeclared entries will receive B circuit points. Whatever the class placing, the highest placed B entry will receive the equivalent of first place points toward B circuit season trophies, the next highest B entry will be awarded second place points, etc. The highest placed A entry will receive the equivalent of first place points toward A circuit season trophies, the next highest A entry will be awarded second place points, etc. Entries will be coded when show results are sent to the four affiliated organizations. WELCOME TO THE BIG TIME Please notify the horse show office if you were showing in academy classes last year and will be showing in a suit this year, we ve got something special planned for you at our year-end banquet but we need to know who you are. JUNIOR AND ADULT JUDGING See office for details. ASTM/SEI Approved Equine Helmet Helmets are required in all 10 & Under Academy Walk-Trot classes, Leadline and Hunter over Fences. AWARDS AND CLASS SIZE Classes with less than five entries may be cancelled or combined. Class splits will be at the discretion of the horse show office. Trophy and 6 ribbons in each class. Trophy and 8 ribbons in each Academy class. CHAMPIONSHIP ELIGIBILITY To be eligible to compete in a divisional championship class, a horse or rider must be shown in one other class in that division. See Chart for specific class qualification details.

EXHIBITORS AGE The age of the exhibitor on December 1, 2017 will be considered the age for class entry. No refunds, except on veterinarian s certificate of unfitness. TWO MINUTE GATE RULE A two minute gate rule will be enforced. Notify the horse show office in cases where a gate hold in excess of two minutes is required. OVERNIGHT CAMPING Exhibitors are welcome to stay free-of-charge overnight on the show grounds in tents, campers, and trailers, but please be aware that there are no electrical or water hook-up facilities. HOLD HARMLESS STATEMENT Any and all entries in this horse show shall be conditioned upon the following terms and conditions: The IASPHA Horse Show, Illinois American Saddlebred Pleasure Horse Association INC., Fields and Fences Equestrian Center and School of Horsemanship, Illinois Dept. of Agriculture, show management, and sponsors will be in no case responsible for any loss, damage or injury that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold them blameless for any loss or injury which may occur by fire, theft or otherwise. SHOW MANAGEMENT Show management reserves the right to change officials at any time and to refuse entries of any exhibitor not in good standing with IASPHA, IHPBEA, ASAW or Mid-America Horse Show Association. The judge s decision is FINAL. All classes will be regulated according to IASPHA rules. If not covered by IASPHA, current USEF rules will be followed. WARM-UP RING SAFETY REGULATIONS In an effort to insure the safest possible event, only participants (riders or drivers, trainers and grooms) are permitted in the warm-up area, and then no earlier than one class before they compete. All exhibitors are asked to instruct family and friends to stay in the seating area or view the show from their reserved viewing room tables. DOGS Dogs must be confined or on a leash. Owner assumes all liability for their dog.

ACADEMY Academy classes are open to any rider presently enrolled in a professionally operated riding lesson program. Riders must be mounted on school horses. Horses in academy classes may be owned by anyone but they cannot be in training and they MUST currently earn their living in a professionally managed riding lesson program. Riders may show their own horses in academy provided the horse is regularly used in a professional lesson program. Academy horses may be shown by nonacademy riders in any other classes in the show for which they are eligible. Age of riders is as of December 1, 2017. ATTIRE: Jodhpurs or dark pants, a collared white or colored long sleeve shirt, tie, jodhpur boots or sturdy shoes. Sweater vest, sweater or fitted vest permitted; no habits or hats. Helmets are strongly recommended and are required for 10 and under riders. EQUIPMENT: Horse must be shown in appropriate saddle (cutback or park pleasure). Normal academy equipment (i.e. martingales, snaffles, etc.) permitted in walk-trot and walk-trot-canter classes. Wraps, shin boots, bell boots and blinkers are permitted. LEAD LINE WALK/TROT: Riders will be led in at a walk and worked each way of the ring. The riders will be individually trotted past the judge. Riders are expected to post, but correct diagonals are NOT required. Class will be judged. ACADEMY HORSEMANSHIP will be judged on the horse s manners and suitability. Horsemanship is paramount. Diagonals will not count. Backing not required. The overall appearance of any pleasure horse should depict a horse that enjoys what he is doing. Entries must be entered, shown and judged in the horsemanship division to qualify for horsemanship championship. Instructors must notify horse show office of entry in horsemanship championship. Walk-trot riders may only enter walk-trot equitation and/or walk-trot pleasure classes. Walk-trot-canter riders may only enter walk-trot-canter equitation and/or walk-trot-canter horsemanship classes. Riders may not cross-enter. Trophies for first place; ribbons first place through eighth place. Academy classes will close after 26 entries per class have been received (2 splits of 13).

Management reserves the right to split championship based on entries. EQUITATION CHAMPIONSHIPS: Exhibitors must have been entered, shown and judged in their qualifying class to be eligible to enter their respective championship. Management reserves the right to determine entries based on placement in qualifying classes. CHAMPIONSHIP WORKOUTS: W-T 18 & Over and 17 & Under Workouts 1 thru 3. W-T-C 18 & Over and 17 & Under Workouts 1 thru 8. 1. Stand up in posting position hold position until judge says to sit. Hands may be on saddle. 2. The judge can ask some riders to go back to the rail and do a workout around the ring at a walk-trot, reverse walk-trot, etc. and return to lineup. 3. Trot a straightaway showing a change of diagonals; rider must start on correct diagonal. 4. Trot down straightaway to end, stop, reverse and canter back. 5. On a straightaway, trot half way on the correct diagonal, stop, and canter the remaining distance on the correct lead. 6. Trot a figure eight or trot a serpentine. 7. Canter down straightaway, stop, then ride a circle at a trot. 8. Trot down straightaway, stop, and canter a circle.
