Junior Cricket Guidelines and Policies The purpose of the Junior cricket policy is to provide a framework for all those involved in the game of cricket at a junior level. Junior Purpose Statement The Purpose of the New City Cricket Club is: To provide the opportunity for all children to play and enjoy the game of cricket. To develop and enhance the skills of all players whilst identifying talented individuals. To create a "talented player pathway" for juniors to become long term senior grade players with NCCC. All aspects of the NCCC Talent Development Programs are to reflect the core values of the NCCC: Respect Teamwork Pride Commitment Where possible New City Junior Teams will participate in every age group & division available giving New City players the best opportunity to play in a competition suitable to their individual skills and ability. Junior teams will be selected by the Coaching Co-ordinator/s, Junior Coordinator and Junior Team Coaches. All team selection criteria will be based on Skill, Attitude and Commitment apart from the youngest age group which is participation based. New City Coaching staff may recommend that an individual player participate in a higher age group or senior side to further enhance their playing abilities, the final decision for higher level exposure will rest with the player and their parents. As players progress through each age group skill development and personal development will cover a broader scope. (Please refer to the age group guidelines).
