Soccer Board Meeting Minutes 1/24/2016 ATTENDANCE: See attached sign-in sheet. PREVIOUS MTG MINUTES: 1. October minutes motioned for approval by Chris S., seconded by Rick F. No objections. 2. November minutes motioned for approval by Chris S, seconded by Perry R. No objections. PRESIDENT: 1. Challenger Sports proposal for Spring trainer given by Chris Stevenson a. See PowerPoint presentation for additional details b. Will provide training session plans in advance c. Will provide 1 trainer Tues., Wed., Thurs., & Sat. for in-house practices. i. $195.00 per night for 3 hours. $75.00 per hour for Sat. ii. $5,280.00 for the 8 week Spring season. iii. Option of having 2 trainers for 8 hours per week. (1 hour, 4 days) for $4,800.00 for the season. d. Possibly offer an academy night for travel player as additional cost. e. Cannot commit to SF until they here from another club. f. Have experience with Penn Hills, Shaler, Laural Highlands and various summer camps around Pittsburgh g. Tom S. asked for a sample session plan 2. YES proposed 1 trainer with unlimited hours (7 days per week) for $6,000.00 for the 8 week season. a. Previous concerns with YES i. Trainers not showing up. ii. Different trainer each week. iii. Last cricket session with YES trainers was inconsistent from week to week. 6 out of 8 session has trainers. 4 of those session only had 1 trainer. Limited value of having 1 trainer at crickets (too many players per trainer). 3. UK International provided a written proposal (see attachment for details). a. Ask if UK is willing to break up the hours (could be offering 9 hours per week with 3 trainers) to have trainers come multiple days. b. Proposal not that appealing if UK cannot break up hours. 4. Board decided to reject Challenger proposal. 5. Board to decide between YES and UK by end of this week. VICE PRESIDENT: 1. N/A
SECRETARY: 1. VP position remains unoccupied. 2. Perry Rees re-elected to Board and Treasurer. All present voted Yes 3. Rick Ferrari re-elected to Board. All present voted Yes 4. Todd Feltz re-elected to Board. All present voted Yes 5. Board clarified that a member is anyone signing up and paying for at least the fall session. That member is also a member for the season which runs from Aug 1 st to the following July 31 st. TREASURER: 1. Current balance of $43,376.23. 2. South Fayette Athletic Association would like us to submit a balance by Jan 31 st. We will submit an End of Season balance and not a current balance (balance from November). a. Joining the SFAA provide our association free access to township fields. DIRECTOR OF COACHING: 1. N/A REGISTRAR: 1. Final registration numbers. 511 total players 2. Late registration requests/wait listing a. 2 Cricket boys on wait-list. Did not accept late registration due to numbers. b. 1 Cricket girl on wait-list. Did not accept late registration due to numbers. c. 2 U12 Girls on wait-list. Did not accept late registration due to numbers. 3. See attached registration numbers for more detail. 4. Colleen will need help with uniforms for the spring season. TRAVEL COORDINATOR: 1. 2016 Spring Travel Teams Age Group Girls (No. of Teams) Boys (No. of Teams) U10 3 or 4 (12 or 9 players per team) 3 U11 1 1 U12 1 2 U13 1 0 U14 or U15 See note below 1 (U14) U18 1 0 2. Only 11 U14/15 girls have registered (8 U14 Girls). Chris will try to recruit additional players. 3. March 16 th is the cut-off for PA West registration. Plan to have teams declared by March 1 st. 4. Start of travel season has not been decided by PA West. Hope to start season April 3 rd.
5. Add practices to Koppers. Contact township concerning having Fairview available for Sunday games. IN HOUSE COORDINATORS (Rick Ferrari / Todd Feltz): 1. In-house Season to begin April 2 nd. 2. 44 new kids have registered for U8 soccer a. Need 3 new coaches b. Look to purchase larger goals to replace Pug goals for spring season (Coaches & parents did not like). c. Address players positioning themselves in goal. 3. U10 program will have 2 Boys and 2 Girls teams for the spring. a. Rosters will be larger than the fall b. Will play 2 30 minute halves. CRICKET COORDINATOR: 1. 132 players for the spring 2. 12 teams of 11 3. Still need 1 coach. U12 INHOUSE COORD: 1. Mike s last year as U12 In-house coordinator 2. Practice at Koppers on Tuesdays. 3. Play games at Hogan on Saturdays. REFEREE COORDINATOR: 1. Carl will conduct In-house referee class in March. MEMBERS AT LARGE: 1. N/A GENERAL DISCUSSION: 1. Late registration is over except for U14/15 Girls. 2. Need uniform contact at Dick s. a. Carl will contact Kim and/or Brett for a name and number. 3. Order 150 more cones for U8 Coaches.
