She currently is 52-of-56 from the charity stripe and ranks 4th in the nation in FT PCT at.929. 20 OR BUST Aundrea Gamble has scored at least 20 points in a game 10 times this season with the Red Wolves going 8-2 in those games. The only games in which Gamble scored and A-State did not was a Nov. 30 game in Cancun against Arizona State and the Jan. 14 match up with Georgia State at the Convocation Center. She has shot over 50 percent from the field in 10 games this season and the Red Wolves are 7-3 in those games. HOLDING STEADY ON THE ROAD Arkansas State is 6-2 (.750) on the road this season and is averaging 71.5 points per game (572) in those contest, holding a +3.9 scoring margin. Aundrea Gamble leads the team in scoring on the road, averaging 17.8 points, while Hanna Qedan is second with 13.4 points per night. DOUBLE DIP THE DOUBLE DOUBLE Hanna Qedan (16 points and 11 rebounds) and Jalen O Bannon (14 points and 10 rebounds) each recorded double doubles in A-State s loss to Georgia State on Jan. 14. The last time two A-State players recorded double-doubles in a game was Feb. 26, 2011 when Shay Scott and NeNe Hurst accomplished the feat against UALR. It was Qedan s second double-double of her career and the third for O Bannon. DJ JAZZY JAS CAREER HIGH Junior forward Jasmine Hunt had a career high 17 points in the Red Wolves 73-60 victory over South Alabama on Jan. 11. The total nearly doubled her previous career high of 9 points. DON T CALL IT A COMEBACK In five of A-State s six conference victories this season, the team has trailed by at least eight points in the second half before coming back to earn the win. In five of A-State s six road victories this season, the team has had to over come a second half deficit to earn the victory. In two of the victories (Austin Peay and UT Arlington) the Red Wolves trailed by double digits with 10 minutes to play before earning the victory. THE BOARD IS MINE Jalen O Bannon finished with career high 17 rebounds and 5 steals against Troy on Jan. 9. Her 17 rebounds were the most by an A-State player since Shay Scott had 18 during the 2009-10 season. O Bannon s 11 defensive rebounds tied an Arkansas State Convocation Center record for most defensive rebounds in a game. It has been accomplished 11 other times in school history, with the most recent being Ebonie Jefferson in 2008. IT S RAINING 3 s Jessica Flanery scored a career-high 18 points and knocked down a career-best six 3-pointers in A-State s 87-71 victory over Texas State on Jan. 4. Flanery went 5-of-6 from beyond the arc in the first half of the game and added another in the second half as the Red Wolves defeated the Bobcats by 18 points. She needed just three more 3-pointers to tie the all-time mark for most 3 s in a game at 9. As a team, A-State made 12 3-pointers in the game and needed just 3 more to tie the most makes by a team in a single game.

BOYER EYES SBC RECORD Brian Boyer is tied for the third most wins in Sun Belt Conference history with 129 for his career. He needs just 6 more conference wins to become the league s all-time leader. THE SEC SLAYERS Prior to Dec. 30 loss at Texas A&M, the Arkansas State women s basketball team had won six straight games against SEC opponents. The streak dated back to the 1997-98 season, when current head coach Brian Boyer was an assistant on Jeff Mittie s staff at Arkansas State. Boyer is now 5-1 against SEC teams during his time as head coach at A-State. 50 PERCENT OF THE TIME ITS GOOD EVERYTIME Arkansas State shot exactly 50 percent from the field in back-to-back games against Tennessee Tech and Central Arkansas in the month of December. The Red Wolves went 30-of-60 against Tennessee Tech on Dec. 18 and then came back to go 26- of-52 from the field against UCA on Dec. 21. Three times this season A-State has shot exactly 50 percent. The other occurrence was against Kent State when the squad was 32-of-64 from the field. A-State is 5-1 in games in which it shoots at least 50 percent from the field this season. FOUL PLAY With a new emphasis placed on being able to freely move without hand-checking from the defense in college basketball in 2013-14, several notable stats have appeared through non-conference play. A-State has attempted at least 20 free throws 11 times this season after only accomplishing the feat 12 times in 2012-13. Additionally, the Red Wolves have shot 30 free throws four times this year after doing it just twice a year ago. Arkansas State has also been called for 20 foul 8 times this year after only reaching the mark five times last season. STREAKING NO MORE A-State had its streak of 125 straight games with a 3-pointer made snapped in Cancun on Nov. 29 when the Red Wolves went 0-8 from beyond th arc against Illinois. A-State has gone 5-plus year with making at least one 3-pointer in a game until Nov. 29. The last time A-State did not make a 3 was on Nov. 20, 2009 against Virginia Commonwealth when the Red Wolves went 0-11 from behind the 3-point line. O BANNON CHECKS OFF ANOTHER MILESTONE Sophomore forward Jalen O Bannon recorded her first career double-double on Nov. 29 with 20 points and 12 rebounds against Illinois in the Cancun Challenge Tournament. She led the team with 14 points and 7.3 rebounds per contest during the 3-day tournament. She also hit a career best 14 free throws on a career high 16 attempts. GAMBLE EARNS ALL-TOURNAMENT NOD Aundrea Gamble was named to the All-Tournament team at the Cancun Challenge Tournament over the Thanksgiving Holiday. The sophomore averaged 11 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4 assists per contest during the tournament. She scored a team tournament-high 23 points against Arizona State.

A LONG TIME COMING A-State snapped a 29-game losing to Louisiana Tech with a 91-68 victory in Ruston, La., on Nov. 25. It was the first time since the 1991-92 season that A-State had defeated the Lady Techsters. The win was also the first for Arkansas State in Ruston, who had been 0-20 before Nov. 25. It also marked the first win for Coach Brian Boyer over LA Tech. WE LOVE THE 90s Arkansas State scored 92 points in its victory over Kent State on Nov. 22. HEAD COACH BRIAN BOYER After 14 seasons at the helm of the Arkansas State women s basketball program, head coach Brian Boyer has not only established himself as the winningest coach in ASU women s basketball history, but as the winningest basketball coach to ever pace the sideline at Arkansas State. When Boyer led the Red Wolves to a 54-51 victory over UALR in the 2010-11 regular season finale, he passed former women s head coach Jerry Ann Winters with 197 victories, moving to the top of the list of all coaches in the history of ASU men s or women s basketball. Since then, Boyer s career victory total has risen to 226, including 123 Sun Belt Conference victories. His SBC win total is tied for fourth most all-time, a ranking that includes all women s and men s head coaches, and it ranks second among active coaches. During the 2012-13 season, Boyer led A-State to 12 wins in Sun Belt Conference, marking the sixth that an ASU team had won at least 10 games in conference play under Boyer's direction. He also guided the team on a seven-game winning streak, which was tied for the sixth longest in school history. Jane Morrill also became the 22nd player to have played under Boyer to be voted onto the SBC All-Conference team at the end of the season. Under Boyer's guidance, Arkansas State has reached the Women's National Invitation Tournament four times. He led the Red Wolves to the 2003-04 Sun Belt East Division Championship, the program has produced 19 All-Sun Belt Conference players with Boyer at the helm, and Boyer was named Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year following the 2003-04 and 2004-05 seasons. In the 2004-05 season, ASU put together a program-best 10-game Sun Belt Conference winning streak, part of an 11-game win streak that was the fourth longest in Red Wolves history. The Red Wolves finished the season 21-11 overall and in second place in the Sun Belt East Division at 11-3, giving Boyer his first 20-win season as head coach. A-State advanced to the quarterfinals of the WNIT Tournament, defeating SEC powers Mississippi State and Arkansas along the way. The second round victory over Arkansas was played in front of a Convocation Center record crowd of 10,892. The team's success earned Boyer his second straight Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year Award. Boyer joined former Red Wolves coach Jerry Ann ASU s Winningest Basketball Coaches Winters as the only two 1. Brian Boyer (women s - 238) ASU women's basketball 2. Jerry Ann Winters (women s - 196) coaches to win back-to-back 3. John Rauth (men s - 191) coach of the year honors. Davie, Sims and Carter all earned All-Sun Belt honors following the 2004-05 season, marking the first time in Red Wolves history that three players earned all-conference honors in a single season. In his first season as head coach of the Red Wolves, Boyer led ASU to its first-ever Top 25 national ranking, 18 victories, and a trip to the WNIT Tournament. The Red Wolves' 18 victories gave Boyer the most wins by a first-year coach at ASU since Sara Wooley won 19 games in her first season in 1979. In all, Boyer has had 22 players make the SBC All-Conference team and has twice been selected as the conferences Coach of the Year (2003-04 and 2004-05). He is the Boyer came to ASU in 1995 spending four seasons as an assistant for former head coach Jeff Mittie, who is now the head coach at TCU. A graduate of Missouri Western State College in St. Joseph, Mo., with a bachelor's degree in education, Boyer was an assistant coach for the men's program for six seasons, including the last three, which he spent as an assistant with the women's program as well.
