Testing one two three Testing one two RULES AND REGULATIONS 2013 NORDIC TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS AND CUPS Revised at the NMC Trial Meeting Ocrober 2012

1 GENERAL 1.1 Jurisdiction 1.1.1 Additional Rules and Regulations Issues or situations not mentioned in these rules are subject to the FIM Europe Trial Rules, the FIM Europe Sporting Code, the FIM Technical Rules, the FIM Environmental Code, the FMNR Medical Code and the FMNR Antidoping Code. 1.1.2 Language This English version of the rules prevails. Any translation will be informational only. 1.1.3 Jury Each of the participating Nordic FMNs must nominate a voting member of the jury. The nomination must be submitted to the organiser by the date set in the supplementary regulations for the event. The FMNR member will chair the jury and must hold, at least, a valid national clerk of the course licence. FIM s rules on appropriate licences for the other Jury Members do not apply. Each country has one vote. Decisions are taken on a simple majority. In the case of a tie, the Jury Chairman will exercise a casting vote. 1.1.4 Appeal Appeals lodged against a jury decicion will be dealth with within the framework of the FMNR s legal bodies and according to the Disiplinary and Arbitration Codes of the FMNR. 1.2 Calendar The Championship will be organised according to the date set at the Annual Meeting of the Nordic Motorsport Council (NMC) of the previous year. The date will preferably be in August, not colliding with European or World Trial Championship rounds. The Individual Championship will take place on the Saturday, followed by the Team Championship on the Sunday. 2

1.3 Closed Circuit The Nordic Championship will be held in a closed circuit (no public roads for the course). Riders are not obliged to hold a drivers licence, nor have their motorbikes registered for use on public roads. 1.4 Paddock The organisers of the event must accomodate for a paddock / camping area with toilets, showers (separate for women). Offerring electricity is optional and has to be stated in the supplementary regulations aswell as stating pricing per vehicle. They must also provide facilities to dispose of rubbish, oils, detergents etc. An area to clean the motobikes must also be provided which must comply with the FIM Environmental Code. 2 NORDIC INDIVIDUAL TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP The Nordic Motorsport Council (NMC) has established the Nordic Individual Trial Championships and Cups according to decisions taken at the NMC Annual Meeting. 2.1 Participants and Categories 2.1.1 Participants All categories are open to riders meeting the critera of these rules and holding a valid trial licence issued by a FIM affiliated FNM. 2.1.2 The Nordic Individual Trial Championships This category is open to all riders from the year in which they turn 13 years of age. 2.1.3 The Nordic Individual Junior Trial Championship This category is open to all riders from the year in which they turn 13 and until the year they turn 18 years of age. 2.1.4 The Nordic Individual Women s Trial Championship This category is open to all female riders from the year in which they turn 13 years of age. 3

2.1.5 The Nordic Individual 40+ Trial Championship This category is open to all riders from the year in which they turn 40 years of age. 2.1.6 Additional Classes The FMNR of the event is free to add additional classes other than the official Championships and Cups. The prizes for these classes must be obtained and organised by the FMNR or the organiser of the event. 2.1.7 Minders A minder who is riding a motorcycle during the competition must hold a valid trial licence issued by his/her respective FMN. The need for a driver s licence is not applicable. The organiser must ensure that all registered minders are equipped with a bib or equivalent visible identification. 2.2 Entry Fee The entry fee shall not exceed 40 for riders and 20 for minders, or the equivalent in the respective organising country s currency. 2.3 Motorcycles The riders participating in the Nordic Championship and cups must ride a motorcycle type A1, equipped according to the UEM s regulations for Trial. All motorcycles taking part in the competition must be marked with the rider s number on the frame and engineblock. 2.3.1 Capacity Participants in the Nordic Junior Trial Championship must ride a motorcycle not exceeding a cylinder volume of 125ccm. 2.4 Supplementary Regulations and Entries 2.4.1 Supplementary Regulations The supplementary regulations must be made available at least 30 days prior to the event. The supplementary regulations must state all information regarding the event, such as time limits, starting time, other classes than the Championship classes, 4

fees etc. 2.4.2 Entries Entries must be made and received by the organiser not later than 15 days prior to the event. All entries must be made in writing with all information regarding the rider, team, minder and make of the machine. 2.5 The Course The course must consist of 12 single sections. The Championship Class and Junior Class will run three laps (36 sections), and the other classes will run two laps (24 sections). 2.6 The sections To differenciate between the classes in the sections, one must use arrows, placed in pairs as gates. The rider must pass all the gates applying to his/her class. If a rider passes through a gate other than his/her own, regardless of direction, it is to be considered a failure (5 points). The colour codes for the various classes is as follows: Championship class Red Championship class Junior Blue Championship class Women Pink Class 40+ Green 2.7 Starting order and time allowance 2.7.1 Overall Time Allowance The individual competition s overall time allowance must not exceed 4 hours and 30 minutes for additional classes, 40+ class and Womens class. The individual competition s overall time allowance must not exceed 5 hours and 30 minutes for Junior and Championship classes. In addition a time limit of 20 minutes (respit) is added. 2.7.2 Starting Order The starting order of the riders in the various classes is decided by ballot. If there are additional classes in the event, these riders will start first, followed by 40+, the Women s class, the Junior class and the Championship Class. 5

The participants will start with one and a half minute interval. The last start shall be at 11:00 o clock. 2.8 Prize Giving and Awards The winner will receive a gold medal with a ribbon in the organising country s national colours Second place will receive a silver medal with a ribbon in the organising country s national colours. Third place will receive a bronze medal with a ribbon in the organising country s national colours. 3 NORDIC TEAM TRIAL CHAMPIONSHIP The Nordic Motorsport Council (NMC) has established the Nordic Team Trial Championship according to decisions taken at the NMC Annual Meeting. At least three teams in each class has to attend in order for the Championship to be valid per class. 3.1 Participants and Categories 3.1.1 Participants All categories are open to teams with riders meeting the critera of these rules and holding a valid trial licence issued by their FNM. The competition is open to teams representing one of the following FMNs: DMU, NMF, SML, MSI, LaMSF, LMSF, EMF and SVEMO. 3.1.2 The Nordic Team Trial Championships Each FMN can enter only one official national team in this category, composed of 3 or 4 riders. Each rider is allowed one minder. 3.1.3 The Nordic Junior Team Trial Championship Each FMN can enter only one official national team in this category, composed of 3 or 4 riders. Each rider is allowed one minder. This category is open to riders from the year in which they turn 13 and until the year they turn 18 years of age. 3.1.4 The Nordic Women s Team Trial Championship 6

Each FMN can enter only one official national team in this category, composed of 1, 2 or 3 riders. Each rider is allowed one minder. This category is open to female riders from the year in which they turn 13 years of age. 3.1.5 The Nordic 40+ Team Trial Championship Each FMN can enter only one official national team in this category, composed of 3 or 4 riders. Each rider is allowed one minder. This category is open to riders from the year in which they turn 40 years of age. 3.1.6 Minders A minder who is riding a motorcycle during the competition must hold a valid trial licence issued by his/her respective FMN. All riders on the winning team and their Team Manager will receive a gold medal with a ribbon in the organising country s national colours. All riders on the second best team and their Team Manager will receive a silver medal with a ribbon in the organising country s national colours. All riders on the third best team and their Team Manager will receive a bronze medal with a ribbon in the organising country s national colours. The organiser of the event is free to organise additional classes other than the official Championships categories. The prizes for these, must be obtained and organised by the organiser separately. 3.9 Recording of Scores The scores for the team competition for categories the Championship Class, Juniors and 40+ will be recorded according to the FIM Trial Rules, appendix 053. The scores for the team competition for the Women category will be recorded according to the FIM Trial Rules, appendix 055. 9
