BICYCLE TO MOTORCYCLE BICYCLE RACK Install Manual Warning: You are responsible for securing the rack to your motorcycle., checking the attachments prior to use and periodically inspecting the products for adjustment, wear and tear and damage. You must read and understand all instructions and cautions etc. Should you have any questions please call use. 1-919-590-0707. We at 2x2 Cycles have made every effort to produce a safe and enjoyable product. 2x2 Cycles LLC. The user of 2x2 Cycles LLC products excepts full responsibility and does so at there own risk. Please drive responsibly and be aware that you are carrying your bike with you. 1

What s in the Box: Base plate Adjustable telescoping arm Large front fork quick release Small pedal trap quick release Load Distribution Strap (LDS) S.H.O.T (spacer, half inch wrench, tool) 5/16 s.s bolt with lock washer and set nut Safety flag with clip Front wheel safety strap Led light kit This manual Install hardware (specific to your bike) 2

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PURCHASE OF A 2X2 CYCLES BICYCLE RACK Important: Read Before Installation It is critical that all 2x2 Cycles racks and accessories be properly and securely attached to your motorcycle. Improper attachment could result in an accident and could cause serious bodily injury or death to you and/ or to others. You are responsible for securing the racks and accessories to your motorcycle, checking the attachments prior to use, and periodically inspecting the products for adjustment, wear, and damage. Therefore, you must read and understand all of the instructions and cautions supplied with your 2x2 Cycles product prior to installation or use. If you do not understand all of the instructions and cautions, or if you have no mechanical experience and are not thoroughly familiar with the installation procedures, you should have the product installed by a professional installer, such as a qualified garage. We are always here to answer your questions 1-919-590-0707 3

1 First you will want to insert the arm into the rack. You will notice a push button on the bottom, this is a safety stop should you forget to tighten the friction nut when unloaded. Depress the button to install and depress again when it falls in the stop hole. Slide arm in to approx. length. 2 Make sure that the quick release is open enough to except your fork. Go ahead and lift up your bike and set the fork in the quick release, make sure it is flat in there and close the quick release. NOTE: If you want you can turn your fork around 180 degrees, this will shorten the load by 4.5 and place the handle bars more behind you. Make sure that the pedal on the left side of the bike is in the down position and set it down in the pedal arm. You can adjust the arm in and out to get a good fit and is not rubbing. 4

3 Now go ahead and put the small pedal quick release in. Lower it down to the pedal and tighten. 4 Using your S.H.O.T tool go ahead if you have not already done so and tighten the friction nut until the arm is tight then spin down the nut and tighten. 5

5 Go ahead and slide the front wheel into the slotted holder and tighten. On some bikes you will need to use your SHOT tool as a spacer on the outside of the wheel quick release (almost never). Front wheel stored. SHOT tool in place on outside of hub behind quick release. Only needed if the quick release does not close and make a tight fit. 6

6 Now please pay attention here. This is where you will install the LDS (load distribution strap). This is not to keep the bike from falling off, but it does help keep it from rocking similar to a bike on the roof of a car. Rather, this is to balance the cantilever effects of the bike being out over the rear. Creating a forward triangle by putting the strap over the handlebar stem, attaching the ends to the passenger foot peg area and tightening just enough to relieve the pressure off the rear, you have in effect transferred the weight from the overhang onto the front fork post. This is now a static load, meaning that the strap has very little stretch so when you hit a bump or you re under hard acceleration, the weight will not shift to the rear and add twisting forces to the frame. Please note: Do not attach the strap to the rack itself or to the rack that it is mounted to, this will have no effect on the weight distribution. I have used a spot above the rear foot peg on the frame. Please note, the LDS strap is over the handlebar stem. This aids in the lever effect and easily aids in balancing the weight and shifting forward. 7

Warranty 2x2 Cycles LLC warranties our racks from any defects in the course of normal use. We can not warranty racks that have been alter, or defaced. 2x2 Cycles only warranties our racks and excepts no responsibility for motorcycle or bicycle gear. It is impossible for us to warranty beyond our rack as we have no control in the manner in which rack was being used or how it was installed etc. If you have a problem with your rack, call us at 919-590-0707 Warning Please always keep an eye on your new rack. Just like your motorcycle and bicycle it needs to be maintained. So keep an eye on the safety straps and all the hardware. Make sure everything is kept tight and there is no wear on the straps. If wear appears replace it. If you ever need further tech assistance or parts, please give us a call at: 919-590-0707 Welcome to the Cyclelution 8
