Aiden also came third in the 11 boy s singles with Pat Coleman fourth in the Green Ball division. The tour then proceeded to Tewantin and again we dominated. Norbert and Alex again took out their respective age groups with Aiden Brighouse adding to the collection, winning the 17 boy s singles and doubles. Also in Tewantin, Courtney Urquhart was runner-up in the 15/17 girl s singles, with Gabby Cook in fourth place. Cooper Drew finished third in the 15 boy s singles with Milly Bonassi fourth in the 11 girl s singles and winner of the doubles. Jay Calter and Flynn Drew made the semis of the 11 boy s doubles with Norbert joining Aidan Serifovic to make the final. Special mention also goes to Flynn Drew who won a sportsmanship award. Good job. JUNIOR HOLIDAY TENNIS CLINIC Check out page 3 for a comprehensive run down and terrific photos of our fantastic holiday tennis clinic.

SEMESTER ONE FRIDAY FINALS The weather was perfect and the tennis level was not far of that mark as well! It was finals time in Caloundra for three of our outstanding competitions. The Friday Yellow, Green and Red ball comps came to a fantastic conclusion on the last day of the school term with many great shots, great smiles and plenty of pizza thanks to our great friends at PIZZA CAPERS. In the end we crowned some very worthy champions. Congratulations to Joshua Anderson who had a barnstorming end to the season, culminating in a terrific final s victory over Aiden Serifovic to claim the title for Friday Yellow ball. In the Green ball comp the spoils went to Milly Bonassi with a hard fought win over Oliver Holt in the final, after two fantastic semi finals involving Oliver, Milly and Flynn Drew and Jay Calter. In the awesome Red ball the little guys continued to show how much talent we have coming through. In the end Eva Williams claimed her second consecutive comp win. Eva finished on 234 points with Cooper Finlay next best on 223. All players show fantastic potential and will certainly be our superstars of the future. HOLIDAY FUN The Winter Clinic was held in the second week of the school holidays with a super group of keen tennis players taking part in all the fun and games. There was plenty of great tennis and even more smiles. The clinic had it all, the speed radar, ball-machine, coaching on all shots, games, prizes and a monster party to end. Congratulations to all the kids for the effort levels and their great play. Everyone went away with awards and a mountain of prizes, however we had some very happy group winners. They were: Group 1: Winner- Lincoln Nicholson, Runner-up- Bianca Bathersby Group 2: Winner- Ashton Moore, Runner-up- Liam Watts Group 3: Winner- Kirra Hooper, Runner-up- Dale Evans And congratulations to our lucky racquet winner-gemma Bryce 3

ORANGE BALL COMP WINNERS Our sensational Orange ball comp has kicked off again for term 3, however in week one this term we had some unfinished business from term 2 due to rain. Our great group of players played some fantastic tennis all term and the finals day was no exception. In the end it was neck and neck between Bryson Stevens, who led for the first 6 weeks, and Jett Maguire who overtook Bryson with one week to play. In the end Jett had enough in the tank to take his first Orange Ball crown with Bryson the unluckiest of Runners-up after a great season and at his first attempt. A great season played by all and with even more players this time around, term 3 promises to be even better Orange ball winner and runner-up: Jett Maguire (right) and Bryson Stevens Orange Ball Legends!! 4

BETTER WITH AGE! Members of our ETI family, headed by Caloundra president Michelle Noffke took the courts of Mooloolaba under stunning skies to contest the Mooloolaba Veterans tournament in July. The tournament was especially strong and as such the tennis played was both fun and incredibly high. What wasn t so fun were the next few days with many hobbling bodies seen throughout Caloundra!! The highlight of the weekend was Paul Dening taking out the 40 and over singles event. Paul won a tie-break in what turned out to be the decisive set. In other results, Michael Poulos and Penny McGaughran won the 35 and over mixed doubles after saving match points against the second placed team. Michael also came runner-up in the 35 and over men s singles on count back and teamed with Matt Deverson to come runner-up in the 35 men s doubles where they had a match point in the final before being run down-ouch!! Well done to all our other players, Michelle, Jenny Marks, Frank Van Der Laan, Ben Alexander and Sandy Boucaut. We now set our sights on September and the Tewantin ITF vets. 5
