Background This report is a statistical snapshot of the joint campaign activities (JDPBS2151) in the Baltic Sea JDP operational area. The report provides summary information concerning the joint control activities that were carried out as from the 5 th of January 215 until the 31 st of March 215. 2. General objective The general objective of the campaign was to ensure compliance with the requirements of Commission Implementing Decision 213/35/EU and the cod recovery measures as specified in Council Regulation (EC) No 198/27, by means of a coordinated programme of inspections of fishing vessels, at sea and at the ports of landing. 3. The following specific objectives were implemented during the joint campaign operations: a) to inspect vessels and/or catches coming from vessels likely to catch cod, herring, salmon and sprat, which have been identified by risk analysis as liable to be in contravention of fishery conservation measure, b) to carry out cross check of information concerning transport of fish, c) to monitor and evaluate the compliance with the requirements of the accurate recording of discards in logbooks by masters of fishing vessels.
