Spain - Majorca Road Cycle Tour 2019 Individual Self-guided 8 days / 7 nights Majorca is well known as a road cycle paradise in spring and fall to start into the season. Wonderful small roads will lead you over the island, along the coast line and also into the quite high mountain massif of Tramuntana Mountains. Most of the time you will meet and see many cyclist on the roads, having a break at a nice coffee or speeding up the hill. The luggage will be transferred from hotel to hotel and therefore you will have cycle experience like in a round trip tour.
Itinerary Day to Day Day 1: Arrival to Palma/Can Pastillia Tour presentation at the starting hotel where you also get the booked road cycles. Day 2: Palma Orient/Coll D Honor Palma 100 km You will start cycling along the nice seaside promenade and afterwards upwards to from Santa Maria passing Alaro, Coll d Honor to the mountain village of Orient. Expect a lot of serpentines up to the summit. Afterwards a fine downhill ride will wait. Day 3: Palma Ca n Picafort 75 km Today you will cross the island from the south up to the north passing by the Tramuntana Mountains, the flat lands of Es Plá detto to your destination Can n Picafort. Day 4: Ca n Picafort Sineu Petra Ca n Picafort 95 km You will cycle into the heart of the island to Sineu and on to Petra where you will meet a lot of cyclist having a rest. Afterwards you will return to Ca n Picafort. Day 5: Cap de Formentor 100 km You will start cycling inland and afterwards you will follow the mountain road up to the peninsula of Formentor to the light house with an exceptional view. Afterwards downwards to Port de Pollenca and along the coastline back to Ca n Picafort. Day 6: Ca n Picafort Soller 100 km Today you will cycle upwards into the Tramuntana Mountains over the Coll de Sa Bataia. Smaller and larger serpentines will await you and the tour downwards to Sa Calobra will be a challenge because afterwards you have to cycle 8 km upwards again. Afterwards slightly up and down passing 2 mountain lakes before you start your descent to the wonderful valley of Soller. Day 7: Soller Palma de Majorca 45-100 km Today you will follow the coast line road which starts going upwards with a lot of bends. When you are on the plateau the road will became much passing the artist village of Deia, the wonderful mountain village Vallemossa and on to Andratx. Some ascent still wait till you reach Palma de Majorca again. Day 8: Departure
Route Technical Characteristics: Route Profile: Relatively Difficult. On Majorca you will find everything long flat roads, up and downs over hills, short steep ascents and long ascent up to the Tramuntana mountain range. The roads are fine for road cyclists.
