Introduction to Lake Country Welcome to Lake Country, home of spectacular views, sensational ski resorts, worldclass golf courses and award-winning wineries, and, best of all, the friendly environment of a small community. Lake Country has a long pioneer history, with evidence at several locations of First Nations settlements dating back 7,000 years. Caucasian settlers arrived more than 100 years ago to farm the lowlands and the arable hillsides. Today it is an area of lush green orchards, rolling vinyards and most recently a truffiere. Situated mid-way between the cities of and Vernon, we take advantage of the best these larger centers have to offer. Two ski resorts, Big White () and Silver Star (Vernon) both offer great skiing, skating, tubing and snowmobiling. An abundance of wineries in the area offer tours and tastings. Our three lakes Okanagan, Kalamalka, and Wood Lake offer a variety of watersports like wakeboarding and fishing, along with the amazing views for which our area is well known. There is also a variety of galleries, museums and theatres in the valley to provide a well-rounded cultural element. You will find references to these attractions, and more, in our Host package. We hope your time in Lake Country meets all your expectations and we look forward to being your hosts at the BC Hockey Peewee Tier 3 Provincial Championships! 5

Arena Information The Arena is located at 9830 Bottom Wood Lake Road, Lake Country, BC. It is a well used facility with one ice surface and spectator seating available on one side. It is currently undergoing a dressing room expansion which we have been promised will be completed by Championship time, as well as renovations to much of the existing arena. There is a full service concession which offers many healthy choices, specials, as well as group meals if organized ahead of time.
