Invitation: Copenhagen 2017 World Para Swimming World Series NPC Denmark kindly invites all federations and Danish and foreign clubs to take part in the Copenhagen 2017 World Para Swimming World Series March 10 th 12 th 2017. The Organising Committee will make all possible efforts to welcome the swimmers and staff of your federation/club in the best possible way. General information: The event is approved by World Para Swimming and the competition is open for swimmers with a physical, intellectual or visual impairment. The event will be held according to World Para Swimming Rules and Regulations. Following the World Para Swimming rules and regulations rule 2.6 (p. 11), no withdrawal after the final entry deadline is possible. The only exception is a medical withdrawal (shall be reported no later than 30 minutes prior to the start of the session). There are no qualifying times and classes S1 - S14 offered. (see last page). Important: Late entries will not be accepted. Eligibility: The LOC will only accept entry forms submitted by the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) / National Swimming Federation (NSF) in good standing with the IPC. To be entered in the competitions, athletes must: be registered in SDMS have an International Classification, Review (R) or Confirmed (C) status; have a National Classification (New (N) International status), but are within the Classification Schedule for the event. If a swimmer enters the competition without an International Classification (and not being within the Classification Schedule for the event), the swimmer may enter the heats but can under no circumstances proceed to the finals. 1
Swimmers should enter the meet using their current IPC Swimming classification which may be found online at http://www.paralympic.org/swimming/rules-andregulations/classification/masterlist. Venue: IPC has approved the Copenhagen 2017 World Para Swimming World Series. It s held in one of the best competition pools in Denmark, Bellahøj Svømmestadion which is also the training centre for the Danish Paralympic and Olympic swimmers. The address is: Bellahøj Svømmestadion Bellahøjvej 1-3 2700 Brønshøj Denmark https://teambade.kk.dk/indhold/bellahoej-svoemmestadion The competition will be held in a 50-meter pool with 8 lanes and a water temperature of 26 ºC. Electronic timing system (OMEGA) will be used and complete lane result screen. A 25 m pool will also be available for swim-down and warm-up during the event. Accommodation and entry fees: We can offer a competition package in 2 basic versions based on a double room accommodation for 2 nights Scandic Hotel or Danhostel Bellahoj. Scandic Hotel: 4-star hotel situated a 15-20 min. drive form the venue Danhostel Bellahoj: 4-star hostel situated an 8-10 min. walk form the venue. The competition packages include the following: - Accreditation fee - 2 nights of accommodation - 6 meals from Friday evening till lunch Sunday - Shuttle services - Free practice Friday from 16.00-20.00 - Classification - Awards Prices Scandic Hotel: 585,00 EUR pr. person in a db. room incl. shuttle services 485,00 EUR without shuttle services Prices Danhostel: 485,00 EUR pr. person in a db. room incl. airport shuttle 435,00 EUR pr. person without airport shuttle. 2
At the Danhostel we can offer less expensive rates if you accept 3- or 4- bed accommodation. Extra days/nights incl. meals and shuttle service: 220,00 EUR pr. night/person at Scandic / 120,00 EUR pr. night/person at Danhostel Important! Please use the separate Accommodation Form and indicate which hotel you prefer. In this form you can also express your wishes regarding; - extra nights of accommodation. - extra practise days if possible. - 3- or 4-bed accommodation at the Danhostel (lower rates) - single room accommodation (higher rates). Practise and warm-up: There will be free practise in the 50 m pool Friday from 16.00-20.00 and warm up Saturday and Sunday morning. All participating swimmers and coaches are requested to follow the warm-up procedure in order to ensure a safe and high quality warm-up for all participating swimmers. Results: Results will be presented at the venue score board during the competition. The results will be available on relevant websites and results are updated after each session. There will be free access to Wi-Fi at the poolside. Multi-class finals: The participating swimmers in the multi-class finals will be found by calculating points from the achieved times from the preliminary event by the World Para Swimming point system. The 8 swimmers best ranked by points will participate in the multi-class finals. Scratches for multi-class finals (including substitutes) must be made no later than half an hour after the results are presented. Single class finals We offer to single class final Sunday and to Sunday. Which event we will offer at single class final will be announced after the entry. Scratches for single class finals (including substitutes) must be made no later than half an hour after the results are presented. Awards: In the finals medals will be presented to the three best swimmers compared to the world records. The award ceremony will take place at the pool side. 3
Call-up areas: There will be call room in connection with the competition. Doping Control: According to the The World Anti-Doping Code doping control can be announced during the competition. Classification: International Classification will be available for athletes with Intellectual Impairment (9 th - 10 th March 2017) and Physical Impairment (8 th - 10 th March 2017). World Para Swimming will schedule all athletes entered with a New or Review status for classification. No separate request is required. An athlete will only be permitted to undergo International Classification if he or she: Is registered and/or licensed with IPC Swimming pursuant to the relevant provisions in the IPC Swimming Rules and Regulations; Has submitted Medical Diagnostics information (Medical Diagnostic Form (MDF) and supporting documents) to the Sport Data Management System (SDMS) Physical Impairment MDFs must be uploaded at least 6 weeks before the athlete undergoes classification. Athletes with an Intellectual Impairment (II) Prior to Athlete Evaluation, an Athlete must comply with the following eligibility criteria: Inclusion on the INAS Classification Master list Completion of the Training History and Sport Limitation Questionnaire (TSAL- Q). Where a classification schedule is full: Athletes who are licensed will take priority over registered athletes followed by; New Athletes will take priority over Review Athletes. If an athlete is required to attend Athlete Evaluation, athletes must arrive at the competition prior to the start of the classification period. IPC Swimming will schedule athletes in accordance with the classification period and not arrival dates of athletes. IPC Swimming WILL NOT entertain any request to change any athlete s classification times. If an athlete fails to attend Classification at the scheduled time, the athlete will not be permitted to compete at the Competition. Athletes should take note of the Athlete Evaluation Requirements outlined in Article 4 (Athlete Evaluation) of the IPC Swimming Classification Rules and Regulations (https://www.paralympic.org/athletics/classification/rules-and-regulations). Failure to comply with these rules may lead to the suspension of Athlete Evaluation. 4
It s possible to be IPC classified from March the 8 th - 10 th. NPC`s and clubs have to apply directly to IPC Swimming for their swimmers to be classified. The necessary documentation is on the IPC Swimming website: http://www.paralympic.org/swimming/. Make sure that the athletes being classified are entered into S and SB events of the competition.
