As volunteers, someday we need to keep track of the actual hours spent keeping our club running smoothly and in its beautiful condition. We order and unload targets, load the trap houses, run the club every Sunday, AND Wednesday evenings, April-October, weather permitting. Cleaning the club house, grounds and having sparkling clean restrooms are a chore. For the four PITA shoots, there is planning, supplies to be checked, orders to be made, traps to be maintained and then day of shoot, Shoot masters, Trap loaders, Score keepers are awesome. Members provide desserts and assistance in the kitchen. No matter what happens, a friendly smiling face is a MUST! Even when the butane/propane tank reads 50% full, but is empty! A volunteer takes care of all problems. FUN Shoots, 3 per year: Throughout the area, scatter boards are distributed and picked up, then after a well ran fun day, the prizes are taken to the non-attending winners. Not enough, hunters safety is taught at least twice a year! When needed, a qualified shooter/volunteer takes a new shooter under their wing and assists with the safety issues of shot gun/guns handling. Still not enough. Club meetings are held every month. The generators must be maintained, the lawn mower decides it is tired, fuel generator and mower needs to be ordered. Bills must be paid and deposits made. Care taker must watch for vandalism. Lastly our website is updated and maintained MOST IMPORTANT Volunteers and shooters, without you, there would be NO SHOOTS. At any Gun Club, please say a well desired thank you to the VOLUNTEERS.
