Arriving on time to training There has been a number of swimmers arriving to training late on a regular basis to start the season off. The scheduled start times for sessions are for swimmers to be getting in the pool or starting their land based training. Swimmers should be there 5 minutes prior to the start of their session, ready to receive instructions from their coaches. Swimmers in the Country Squad are currently sitting out if they are late and this will continue to happen. As courtesy to the squad group and the coaching team, please be on time and help set the standard expected of the squad group and the standard expected of you throughout your everyday lives, at school, work, meetings, appointments, etc. If you are going to be late on a regular occasion due to other appointments, please speak to your coach if you have not already done so. Parent s swimming sessions We had great success and strong participation with our parent sessions that were introduced in the 2017-18 season. 10 of parents went on to compete for the club at the Gippsland Champs or in the SGSA competitions. We hope to continue to grow this squad throughout the 2018-19 season and double our squad size for a parent sessions. There will be a 1 hour session running each month beginning in July at both Leongatha and Wonthaggi pools. Dates will be announced as we go with sessions generally being Friday afternoon at Leongatha and Saturday afternoon at Wonthaggi. These sessions cater for swimmers of all abilities and if you are unsure if it is for you, we encourage you to come and try it out. To be able to participate in these sessions, parents must sign up as a member of Swimming Victoria as a competitive swimmer. RACV Resort Inverloch Thank you to Carey and his team at the RACV resort for their generous voucher for the coaches to attend the RACV Inverloch resort for dinner. The RACV have been a great contributor to the club over the past 12 months and we hope to continue that partnership into the future. If you have not been to the RACV resort, take some time out book a date to go see the amazing facilities, view and meals. TeamApp If you are not yet on TeamApp, I encourage you to join up. We post a lot of our information on TeamApp, especially last minute changes in competition information as it is quick and easy to communicate through.
