U11AB GIRLS CRICKET The U11AB girls cricket teams made RR history playing in our first official girls cricket match against Croydon High! The amazing team effort and smiley faces was priceless. The girls had a fantastic time and they fact we won one match and only lost by 7 in the other was a huge bonus!

Our first girls cricket team! Congratulations!

U11 HAWTHORNS ROUNDERS The girls played 5 matches in the pool and it was lovely to play different teams. We demonstrated excellent fielding skills keeping the opposition scored down. Batting was hit and miss! We scored some excellent Rounders and won 3 out of the 5 games narrowly losing the other 2. This put us 4 th in the group, after a final play off match we ended up 8 th. This did not reflect the day as we lost by 1 Rounder in the pool stage to the eventual winner.

U8AB ROUNDERS Great paly from the girls with improved batting and fielding skills. The U8B team won their 2 matches easily scoring 15 ½ Rounders! The U8A team lost their first match however came back very determined to draw against St Christopher s. A great fun afternoon with lots learnt, well done to all who played.

U11AB MIXED ROUNDERS Amazing work from the U11A & B mixed Rounders teams both winning 4 out of 4 matches and qualifying through o the Croydon school finals in 2 weeks time! Brilliant batting and fielding form the whole squad, great work team!

U10AB Rounders V Oakwood 2 very exciting games against Oakwood on Thursday with the A team fielding really well to stop the opposition scoring. The B team fought until the end and came away with a well deserved draw!

Upper Junior Sports Day Last Friday saw 200 children dressed in blue, red, yellow and green competing for their house in the Upper Junior Sports Day. Every activity counted towards the overall total and the winning house will be announced at prize giving at the end of term!

Orange Tennis Team Represent Croydon at London Youth Game The Under 11 mixed tennis team travelled to Redbridge Sports Centre on Thursday to represent Croydon at the London Youth Games. They managed three wins against Sutton, Waltham Forest and Enfield and three tight losses to Harringay, Newham and Ealing.

Trampolining Club Is your child interested in joining a trampoline club? Coney Hall cosmonauts are recruiting new trampolinists and have spaces on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening or a Saturday morning. They are looking for novices to compete at their regional level competitions. If your interested please email Karen at: Coney Hall Cosmonauts coneyhallcosmonauts@gmail.com

Aquathlon Thursday 28 th June 4-5.30pm Would you like to take part in an AQUATHLON (swim and run!) we are hosting another exciting one at RR. Anyone from Y3-6 is welcome to enter you just need to let MRS LLOYD know by emailing or signing up on the lobby board llloyd@royalrussell.co.uk Year 3 will swim 50m, Y4 75m and Y5/6 100m. You will then run around North/West pitch once for Y3/4 and twice time for Y5/6.

AQUATHLON: What you need: Swim suit and goggles to swim in and a pair of trainers to run in. A basket to hold their belongings is optional. Pupils will have a number marked on their arm in permanent marker (don t worry it will scrub off!) They will swim the set distance, get out of the pool, put on their trainers and an athletics vest and run off around the pitch (no drying off in between just like the pros) Once they have crossed the finish line they will return to the pool to get changed. If any parents are available to help please let me know. Numbers will be limited if we get lots of entries so please let me know asap if your son or daughter would like to take part. Many thanks, Mrs Lloyd
