FORMAT - HANDICAP SINGLES This competition is open to all junior bowlers aged under 21 at 31 st December 2017. The handicap will be 90% of the difference between entering average and 210. There will be no minimum or maximum handicap. Each player will play 2 x 3 game series (see opposite page for squad details). The winners being the person who has the highest pinfall with handicap added. In the event of a tied place the winner will be the player with the highest last scratch game. Players will bowl at doubles pace. There are Four Age Divisions - these are:- DIVISION 1 (Under 21 at 31 st December 2017) Girls Under 21 s Boys Under 21 s DIVISION 2 (Under 16 at 31 st August 2017) Girls Under 16 s Boys Under 16 s DIVISION 3 (Under 14 at 31 st August 2017) Girls Under 14 s Boys Under 14 s DIVISION 4 (Under 10 at 31 st August 2017) Girls Under 10 s Boys Under 10 s Product prizes awarded for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place in all divisions*. Medals awarded for 1 st, 2 nd and 3 rd place in all divisions. Memorial Shield for 1 st Place in all divisions. *These will be in the form of spare balls. You will be given the choice of weight you would prefer and this will be sent to your nearest pro shop (or a pro shop of your choosing). SPECIAL RULES This is a BTBA Event Tour and will be sanctioned by the BTBA - their rules govern this event together with the following special rules and conditions:- All bowlers must be under 21 on the 31 st December 2017, and must be members of the BTBA. Membership cards must be produced at registration or pay a fine of 2.00. Any bowler not a member of the BTBA will not be eligible for BTBA ranking points. Points will be awarded on SCRATCH scores retrospectively. Scottish clubs entering do not need to produce STBA cards as they are not eligible for BTBA points. Closing date for entries is the Monday 3rd April 2017. Any incomplete entries will not be squadded until ALL information is supplied on ENTRY FORMS. Partial entries will go to the back of the queue. Entry fees WILL NOT BE REFUNDED ONCE A PLAYER HAS BEEN SQUADDED. Registration is 30 minutes prior to squad time. If all bowlers are present and registered then bowling may commence earlier than published times. Latecomers will commence game at the frame in progress. Alterations should be notified to the tournament manager (Michael Johnson) as least 72 hours prior to the date of bowling. This is NOT a re-entry event. Competitors who in the opinion of the tournament manager are not dressed in the correct attire in the playing area will not be permitted to bowl. Shirts should have the name of the players YBC or their own name. Casual shorts or denim clothing of any description will not be permitted. However skirts, skorts or tailored shorts may be allowed. No competitor will be allowed to smoke or consume alcoholic beverages anywhere in the centre during the tournament. Any breach of this rule will result in immediate disqualification. Profane language or abuse of the bowling equipment/machinery may also result in disqualification of the individual from the tournament. Any disqualification may result in the loss of scores/awards.
Any bowler whose conduct is considered to bring the game into disrepute will be disqualified from the tournament and reported to the BTBA (or STBA) for consideration of disciplinary procedure. Protests of any nature must be made within 30 minutes of the problem occurring and confirmed in writing before the presentation commences. A provisional ball must be rolled if a dispute relating to pinfall cannot be resolved immediately. Only tournament officials and one licensed instructor/official/coach per lane will be allowed (rule 333). BTBA ranking points will be awarded for all NAYBC/BTBA bowlers in line with the current NAYBC ranking guidelines (scratch scores). This does not apply to those YBCs under the STBA. Prizes awarded as explained on page 2 of entry form. The Memorial Trophy is to be retained for a year only and MUST BE RETURNED IN IMMACULATE CONDITION FOR THE FOLLOWING YEARS RECIPIENT. IT IS THE WINNERS OBLIGATION TO HAVE TROPHY SHIELD ENGRAVED BEFORE RETURNING TO US FAILURE TO DO SO WILL MEAN THAT WINNERS NAME WILL NOT APPEAR FOR THAT YEAR. In the event of a tie winners will be decided by the highest low game. Bowlers must declare their highest average in ANY league/ tournament/merit list (over 21 games) on the day of bowling this includes adult leagues. An up to date standing sheet MUST be sent to the tournament manager seven days prior to the date of bowling. Competitors must already have bowled in the tournament before they can pace. No fees will be returned once a squad time has been agreed except in the case of the tournament being cancelled.
