EDITORIAL THE EUROLAWYERS Vincent PINATEL Pierre LUSINCHI Dear colleagues and friends, We have the honour of inviting you to the European Football Cup of bar associations and law firms. This 8th edition will take place from 19 to 23 June 2019 in Limerick, Ireland. Several cities were candidates for organising Eurolawyers 2019. After visiting all potential destinations, Limerick won the selection process. The sports facilities and quality residence offered by the University of Limerick, which will host the competition, were the main reasons for this choice. The football fields will also be accessible by foot from the accommodation centre. Located on the west side of Ireland, Limerick will offer you all the ingredients you need for a great event - ideal facilities, bars, restaurants, and day and night activities. Four tournaments will be organised during this 8th edition: Eleven-a-side football Classic : no age limit Master : over 35s Legend : over 45s Five-a-side football Classic : no age limit After the 2017 event in Maribor (Slovenia), we are expecting more than 40 teams in Ireland. Created in 2005, in addition to the Mundiavocat (World Football Cup for Lawyers), the event has seen a significant development. The 7th event in 2017 brought together 38 teams from 20 European countries! The competition, which is held every two years, lasts five days, from Wednesday to Sunday. The draw takes place on Tuesday night. Four tournaments are organised - Classic, Master, Legend, and Five-a-side - and each team plays between 4 and 6 games, lasting from 40 to 60 minutes, depending on the category and their progress in the tournament. REFEREEING To ensure the smooth running of the competition, a regional association will provide the necessary referees to stage the 120 games in the tournament. Renowned international referees will also take part in the competition. Three referees and one delegate will be involved in each match. TROPHIES Prizes will be awarded for each tournament: Champions, runners-up, and 3rd place; cups and medals (gold, silver, and bronze); All other teams will receive a cup with their relative ranking; Special prizes will also be awarded for each category for the best player, top scorer, best goalkeeper, best manager, and most sporting team. REGISTRATION Any team representing one or more bar association or law firm is eligible to participate. There is no limited number per city or country, nor any qualification system.

All participants will be accommodated in a single room and will be able to enjoy all the facilities available within the complex: restaurants, pubs, accommodation and football fields. Built on the banks of the River Shannon, it offers park and river walks connected by a spectacular pedestrian bridge called the Living Bridge. The campus is dotted with sculptures, art galleries, and attractive buildings ranging from the Plassey House, an 18 th century Palladian mansion, to the 21 st century architecture of the Irish Academy of Music and Dance. Within walking distance, you will find the sports complex, which consists of five synthetic and six FIFA-approved natural and synthetic pitches. It is an ideal place where you will be able to challenge your European colleagues with fair play. Golf, water sports, hiking, and horse riding are all available within close proximity of the University.
RATES The cost of participation at the 8 th edition of the Eurolawyers consist of registration fees per team and accommodation expenses per person. REGISTRATION FEES PER TEAM 11-a-side football - 3,000 // 5-a-side football - 1,500 These fees include: All expenses for the sport organisation of the tournament, the provision of football pitches, balls, refereeing (3 referees and 1 delegate per match), water on the pitch, medical assistance, cups, trophies, medals. ACCOMMODATION EXPENSES PER PERSON Rates per person based on a single room in an apartment (2, 4 or 6 persons) within the University of Limerick. Given the financial commitments entered into with our partners and in order to be able to participate to the Eurolawyers, it is mandatory and without exception to book your accommodation through the organisation. Please regularly check all of the registration requirements on our website: euro.mundiavocat.com 1. TEAM REGISTRATION 1.1. The tournament is open exclusively to teams of lawyers from bar associations, groups of bar associations, and law firms. 1.2. Each team must include: Eleven-a-side football: 13-26 players Five-a-side football: 6-13 players 2. PLAYER ELIGIBILITY 2.1. Team creation Each team must be formed taking into account the following provisions: With the exception of cases of exemption referred to in section 2.2 below, players must be: Lawyers registered (or previously registered) at a bar of a European country; L aw students or trainee lawyers, over 22 years of age (born before 31/12/1997), within the limit of 2 per team for Classic and Five-a-side tournaments. 2.2 Cases of Exemption Exemptions may apply to the holders of a diploma of higher legal or judicial studies, and more generally permanent employees of law firms, insofar as they do not exceed four players for the Eleven-a-side tournaments and two players for the Five-a-side tournament. In this case, a list including lawyers and nonlawyers, as well as a statement from the law firm to ensure that the non-lawyers are permanent employees of the company must be provided. These employees must be aged over 30 (born before 31/12/1989) in the Classic & Five-a-side tournaments, over 35 in the Master tournament (born before 31/12/1984) and over 45 in the Legend tournament (born before 31/12/1974). 2.3 Validation of exemptions No exemption requests will be accepted for non-lawyers playing for or having played football for a professional club, a semi-professional club, or any other club in exchange of a payment. To become admissible, exemption requests should be sent to Mr Vincent PINATEL, lawyer and founder of MUNDIAVOCAT and EUROLAWYERS, no later than 45 days before the start of the tournament. All conditions set out above relating to exemptions are mandatory, but are not in themselves sufficient to guarantee an exemption. The final decision rests with the exemption commission, composed of Mr Pinatel and Mr Chicco (tournament director). 3. TEAM COMPOSITION Classic Lawyers with no age limit and in the cases mentioned above Master Lawyers who are over 35 years of age (born before 31/12/1984) and in the cases mentioned above 5 lawyer players over 30 years of age (born before 31/12/1989) Legend Lawyers who are over 45 years of age (born before 31/12/1974) and in the cases mentioned above 5 lawyer players over 40 years of age (born before 31/12/1979) Five-a-side football Lawyers with no age limit and in the cases mentioned above
