Page 2 A MESSAGE FROM THE GM Dear Members, The Country Club of Sioux Falls Tim Walton General Manager (605) 782-0302 Spring is in the air and we are ready for another great season. As we move into April, our clubhouse hours shift back to in season. This means the clubhouse is now open 7 days a week, Burger Night shifts back to Mondays and Wednesday Night Pasta Night is on hold until the fall. On Thursday, April 6 th, we will be conducting our on site golf course renovation bid program. We have 4 very well respected golf course contractors that will be on site along with Jim Lipe, our golf course architect. We will be touring the golf course and discussing the proposed changes. Each company will have 2 ½ weeks to submit their bids. Based on how the bids come in, we will then be able to determine the scope of work that can be completed. This will be done with the help of the Golf Committee recommendation to the Board of Directors of the suggested work to be completed. If approved and the club moves forward with the project, the anticipated closure of the golf course will be from August 14, 2017 thru May 31, 2018. We will certainly keep in constant communication with the members as things progress. The short course will remain open throughout the process. Great news! The club has come to an agreement with Dakota Golf Management. The agreement allows our golf members to play any of the three city courses. This includes Elmwood, Prairie Green and Kuehn Park. Our club is picking up the tab for our member s green fees. This simply means you will be responsible for any incidental charges just as you are here at the club (carts, gloves, balls, etc.). You as members will each receive a membership card that you will need to provide when checking in for golf. You will have the same access to tee times as anyone else, 7 days in advance. We also worked out time blocks for Ladies and Men s day. We will have a 2 hour block on both Tuesdays and Thursdays. These blocks have the ability to grow or shrink based on our members usage. This agreement is in place from August 14 thru May 31. We are pleased that we are able to provide 54 holes of golf for our members to play while our course is being renovated. During this time, we will be asking our members to utilize our food and beverage operation as much as possible. If you haven t already, you will be receiving a State of the Club and membership renewal letter in the mail. Along with this I would like to remind you that we are offering a limited number of lifetime memberships. This means for a one-time fee, you will never write another check for dues for the life of your membership. If you anticipate that you will be a member of the club for the next 15, 20, 25, 30 years, this membership is right for you. If you would like further details, please contact me directly at 521.7318. These memberships are being offered and funds will only be applied towards the golf course renovation project. Events that you don t want to miss this month are, The Great Easter Egg Hunt, Easter Brunch and the April Wine Dinner. Details about each of these events can be found inside this newsletter. Also, Kristen has spent a good deal of time adding value to Friday s Family Fun Nights. As we get closer to the warmer weather, we will be communicating these nights so your kids don t miss out. Yoga is now being offered on Friday mornings from 8:15 till 9. This program takes place at the indoor tennis facility and the cost is just $5 per person. Our very own, Jill Sunde conducts the class and 100% of the cost to participate goes to her. The team here at the club wants to sincerely thank all of you for your support throughout the past few years

Page 4 The Country Club of Sioux Falls GOLF SHOP REPORT Jared Andersen Head Golf Professional (605) 782-0318 Spring is finally here! It is fun to be able to say that, and even more importantly to be promoting GOLF ACTIVITIES. Events and signups will be creeping up on you, so we will do our best to keep you informed. The golf shop hours fluctuate based on weather, but when the course is open for golf here are the shop hours: Monday 10:00am-7:00pm Tuesday Sunday 7:00am 7:00pm Spring is a great time to get organized for the season, and here is a reminder of the services available to you as a member: Club Storage, Men s and Women s Lockers, Shoe Care, and GHIN Handicaps. For those of you planning to play in events or leagues this season a GHIN Handicap is required. If you don t have a GHIN Handicap we can set one up for you, or if you are a new member and have one from your previous facility we can transfer that over. Starting April 1 we are back in-season for GHIN Handicaps, so what that means is you can start posting all scores played in SD (April 1 October 31).If any of you played this winter at a facility that was in-season (Florida, California, Arizona, Mexico, etc.) those scores can and should be posted to your GHIN. All you need to post those scores in the course rating and slope of the tees you played. The score posting terminal here at the club is located outside the golf shop on the way to the locker rooms, or you can always post your scores online using your GHIN #. It is important to note that a member s handicap must not rise more than 3.0 index points during a revision cycle To protect the field the Handicap Committee will continue to monitor this. The new merchandise for 2017 has started to arrive and it looks great. I want to remind you that members receive 20% Off the retail price on all clothing (you will see a retail price and MEMBER PRICE on the tags). Items that aren t discounted, but are priced the same as Austad s, Dick s, and Scheels are the hardgoods (clubs, balls, bags, gloves, shoes, and range finders). What sets us apart when it comes to clubs is custom fitting. We have the latest technology as well as the training to fit you for exactly what you need. Call us today to set up an appointment! We have reached out to those of you who took advantage of the Titleist Loyalty Program in the past. Titleist is offering this again, and if you are interested all orders must be placed by April 16th. This is the program where you Buy 3 Dozen Prov1 or Prov1x and you get the 4th Dozen FREE. The only requirement is that the golf balls need to be imprinted. The imprint can be a name, nickname, initials, business name, etc. and can be done in black, blue, green, red, or pink. You even have the option of picking your own ball # for $1.00 upcharge per dozen. Call today to place an order, or email Tyson at tysont@ccsf.club. Are you in the Hole in One Club?? If any of you were in the (HIOC) club last year you were automatically put in the club this year. If you aren t in the club and would like to be let the golf staff know during your next visit. Here is how the club works: When someone in the HIOC gets a hole in one everyone in the HIOC gets billed $8 per person (example 200 people in HIOC x $8 = $1600 pot). Half the pot will go towards your food and beverage bill (to help cover drink tab), and the other half you get in golf shop credit. All Members of the HIOC will be notified via email right after a hole in one is made, and will have 7 days from the date of the hole in one to redeem their FREE drink in the Member s Lounge upstairs. The bar staff will have a list of who gets a drink, and if they have redeemed that yet. The person hitting the hole in one will also receive a special gift to help him/her remember their great accomplishment! (Continued on page 5)
