Excelsus has always prided ourselves on building female bloodlines or recognizing cows that produce well year after year. My dad always says what is the use of a cow that has an ICP of under four hundred days and a reproduction index of over a hundred if she has no calves that are retained in the herd or sold as sale bulls. Move her to the commercial herd if you want to keep her then. A stud cow should retain a fair amount off her offspring as higher quality, inspection passed animals and still have a good ICP and reproduction index. We then recognize these animals by our naming system. Mooi Rivier is the son of LAR06224 that needs no introduction. He breeds sound bulls and females and is a very correct bull.
