Hockey Helps The Homeless Success! On October 26th, the 5th annual Hockey Helps the Homeless KW fundraiser was held at RIM Park. Sixteen teams, each led by a former NHL-er, played multiple games throughout the day. Waterloo Wolves trainer Greg Henning provided his services for the day, making sure players were healthy & safe. The one day event raised an amazing $225,000 ($15,000 more than last year!). The Piller s Waterloo Wolves Alumni Team came 2nd in the Team Challenge, raising $13,905. The $225,000 will be shared between five local charities who support the homeless in our community. Next year the event is looking to break the $1,000,000 given to local charities in just six years of Hockey Helps The Homeless KW. Congratulations to the organizers, participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers. What an incredible achievement. Next year s Hockey Helps the Homeless K-W is Friday, October 25 at RIM Park. Alumni, save the date!
