Vidar 1961 Brabant Rowing Center Training Facilities Rowing TSR Vidar Hilvarenbeek, Netherlands In the south of the Netherlands, 80 minutes by car from Amsterdam, there is a broad, tranquil, and easily accessible location for athletes looking for a perfect training location to prepare for regattas in Europe, or for the Olympic Games in Rio 2016. This document gives a brief explanation on the opportunities that are available to crews looking for a good accommodation for rowing. 1. Rowing The water is accessible from Vidar, the Rowing Association that has developed multiple national athletes and offers international crews the opportunity to train, take a shower, relax in the building and eat. There is a 2km / 1.24 mile rowing course where up to five boats can row next to each other. Furthermore, it is possible to row uninterrupted for about 18 kilometers. There are hardly other boats on the water and due to the trees and high wall along the water there is no or only very little wind, which provides excellent conditions to train efficiently. Moreover, motorboats can be rent by coaches to accompany the crew, and there is a cycling path along the water (throughout the full length of the canal) so coaches can always see their crew and coach them. Because of the conditions named above, the location has been given the B-status by the NOC-NSF (the Dutch Olympic Committee) which proves the quality of the training location. 2. Accomodation and other facilities In November 2012 our new rowing accommodation has been realized. The extension of the original building has been the result of our ambition to become the number one training location for rowing in Europe, to facilitate international equips, which in return allows us to learn from these top-rowers. Between training sessions it is possible to relax at Vidar. Also it is possible to have lunch and dinner. There is profound experience within the rowing association in providing lunches or dinners for athletes. Vidar provides access to 16 ergo s at location and moreover it is possible to use the power training facilities. There are multiple bars for cleans, squats etcetera and all other necessary equipment. In order to facilitate training sessions, Vidar is able to assist with time measurement for training sessions and trials on demand. Finally, we have an extra boathouse where equips can stall their boats.
In the neighbourhood are multiple options for accommodation to stay. About 400 meter / 0.25 miles from Vidar there are small bungalows where up to 6 athletes per bungalow can sleep. These are located right at the rowing course. Alternatively, there are nearby hotels and a group accommodation that are affordable and accessible by car or bike (5 10 km). All the accommodations are able to provide a customized diet for athletes. We will do everything we can for top-athletes to make the training camps highly effective and provide the professional quality that is in line with our well-known reputation as number 1 location for training camps in the Netherlands. Prices There are specific prices for making use of the Vidar accommodation, prices are per person per day 1 : - Vidar accommodation 2 10,00 - Fitness facilities 1,50 - Study room 2,00 - Rent of motorboat (1/2 day) 35,00 - Breakfast from 3,50 - Lunch from 4,50 - Dinner from 7,00 1 Prices are as of September 2014 and subject to changes. No rights can be reserved from these prices. 2 Included in the Vidar accommodation are the use of ergometers, the chill-room and the boat house (for stalling boats). We can help you in finding the right accommodation to stay and make a quotation that is specified to all desires for your crew. These options are available: For the bungalows, prices range from 400-850 euro per week for up to 6 athletes. Nearby hotels charge prices from 30-60 euro per night Group accommodation options: o Weekend (Friday to Sunday): 100 euro for two nights, including 2x breakfast, 2x lunch and 1x diner. o Midweek (Monday to Friday): 190 euro for four nights, including 4x breakfast, 3x lunch and 1x diner. o Week (Monday to Monday): 289 euro for seven nights, including 7x breakfast, 6x lunch and 7x breakfast. o Other options are possible, please contact us for the prices.
