CURRENT SPONSORS BASEBALL AUSTRALIA Baseball Australia (BA) is the governing body for all levels of baseball throughout the country. Primarily responsible for the development of the sport; administration, conduct, participation, high performance and promotion, BA works with seven State and Territory associations and 600+ clubs across the country. BA also acts as the international liaison and represents Australian Baseball at all international forums. They are a major stakeholder in the Australian Baseball League (ABL); the national league delivered in partnership with Major League Baseball (MLB). BASEBALL QUEENSLAND Baseball Queensland works closely with Baseball Australia and Queensland Government to lead, promote, develop, service and grow all levels of Baseball throughout Queensland and position the sport as a mainstream sport and recreational activity in our state. Baseball Queensland administers the U14, U16 and U20 competitions throughout Queensland. The state is broken into 7 regions who administer the younger players. BRISBANE SOUTH BASEBALL ASSOCIATION BSBA is responsible for administering all T-Ball, Rookie Ball and Little League baseball competitions within the Brisbane South Region. The association may also invite other regions to compete in age group Tournaments during the season. The regions are also responsible for developing junior players to compete in State and National competitions. Please refer to the Little League Pathways for further information (Appendix 1). VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION PROGRAM Formed in the 1995/1996 season, Redlands Baseball Club rose meteorically to international recognition within six years. This was largely due to the vision and collaboration of loyal club members, the Redland Shire Council and financial assistance from the Queensland Government. Redlands Baseball Club, with two world-class fields, is a AAA standard lighted venue complete with a modern clubhouse and indoor batting cages. Situated 25 kilometres southeast of Brisbane in natural bushland, the Redlands Baseball Facility was a host site for the 2000 Olympic trials. Tested by world baseball teams from USA, Italy, the Netherlands and South Africa international recognition was firmly established. The venue hosts State and Australian Titles and is regularly used for club games. Redlands Baseball Club is a family oriented community-sporting club totally reliant on volunteer support. Its aim is to promote participation at all levels and to develop a friendly healthy sporting club for the community to use and enjoy. The Club is grateful for generous financial assistance provided by its sponsors, as it does not rely on income from sources such as gaming machines. The Management Committee welcomes new members and encourages all members together with the business and sporting community to take an active part in the upcoming baseball season. Redlands Baseball Club supports the Codes of Conduct set by Baseball Australia. Redlands Baseball Club Incorporated (The Club) owes much of its success over the years to the support of its volunteer base, however, with the reality of modern day life reducing many people s available time, the club has implemented a Volunteer Recognition Program to encourage more people to volunteer and spread the load of running a successful club. The main objectives of the Program include: 1. Encouraging a larger number of volunteers to become involved in the running of the club, thereby, effectively tapping into the skills and talents of the club s most valuable asset; its people. 2. Reducing the time required for each volunteer by dividing the tasks required to run the club into a larger number of more manageable jobs. As well as lowering the individual workload, this also spreads the knowledge of running the club to a broader base to ensure that the club can continue in the future. 3. Providing those who do not wish to volunteer a guilt free mechanism to contribute to the club without investing their time. VOLUNTEER REBATE AND REWARD This amount is currently set at $100 per player. Each member has the opportunity to recoup the value of one pass by volunteering around the club (Canteen service is not included). You may also possibly gain an extra reward depending on the role you fulfil. VOLUNTEER ROLES The various volunteer roles have been allocated to five (5) different bands, based on the approximate estimated workload attached to each role. Each band has been given a reward value. This value will be refunded to members who are successful in securing a volunteer role. This additional reward will initially be allocated to reduce playing fees and uniform costs, with any leftover amount being paid in the form of a voucher to be spent in the canteen or at a Presentation Night. It is important to understand that these rewards are not attempting to pay the volunteer for all of their time invested; they could never do that. The rewards simply represent the club saying thank you to the volunteer for their efforts. Details for the five (5) bands are attached and can also be found on the club s website. Should you be interested in taking up a volunteer role for this season, please complete the Volunteer section of the registration form and our a committee member will contact you prior to the start of the season to give you the details for our Induction night. A Volunteer Induction night will be held in the first week of training where we will run through the position descriptions, the Volunteer Agreement and the Club s policies and procedures.
