Participation These IV meetings finally brought together 5 countries: Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Belgium and France. About 60 people, including 40 young fishermen and women, were able to participate in many activities mainly focused on fishing activities and aquatic environment. The wish of the National Fishing Federation in France was to be able to offer our young participants a maximum of fishing activities allowing the discovery and the practice of many different techniques. We hope the mission is successful. 4
Friday 6 July 2018 Opening ceremony of the 4 th International Youth Camp EAF The teams met at the Youth Hostel in Strasbourg and were able to participate in the opening ceremony. After the welcome speeches the teams presented themselves and the participants were entitled to a cocktail. 5
Saturday 7 july 2018 Angling competition at the Zich-Molsheim ponds: For the first day of the meeting, the teams were able to fish at Zich-Molsheim ponds. As with all fishing activities, the organization provided equipment for all teams. This allowed all children to fish with the same material but also to serve as a gift for them. The warm weather did not facilitate fishing but some were able to find the right techniques. After the fishing competition, our guests enjoyed a lunch organized by Molsheim Fishing Association. 6
In the afternoon our young fishermen were able to discover the fly fishing. First by learning to throw and to make flies. After the training, accompanied by a local fisherman, the children were able to fly for real. Introduction to fly fishing in the Bruche valley: 7
Sunday 8 July 2018 Street fishing in Strasbourg and discovering lure fishing fishing on the Rhine : The children were able to discover fishing lures... in the city. This is a technique practiced by young fishermen in French cities: street-fishing. Once again the material was provided for all participants who were able to leave with it. Visit of the Gambsheim fish ladder: In the afternoon, the participants were able to visit Gambsheim's fish-pass before going to visit Strasbourg and take a boat trip. 8
Visit of the city Strasbourg: Europe of Fishing in front of the European Parliament: nice symbol Strasbourg is also an historic city of culture, with plenty to see and do, replete with remarkable monuments such as the Cathedral. Our young fishermen and their companions could enjoy this city where water is very present You will also be able to admire the incredibly charming Petite France district, with its canals and timbered houses. Strasbourg s heritage is remarkably well preserved and gives the city its distinctive character. 9
Monday 9 July 2018 Fishing for predatory fish by boat (pike, perch)/sailing on the lake: For the last day, our young fishermen were able to spend a whole day on Lake Plobsheim. On the program: boat fishing predator fish with lures and sailing. Covering 660 hectares, Plobsheim is the largest body of water in the department. In this nice place, the young people were able to discover pike fishing by boat with exceptional comfort conditions. 10
Closing ceremony for the 4 th International Youth Camp EAF and dinner The closing ceremony rewarded the teams for each event and for the general classification. Like 2 years ago in Poznan, our Polish friends proved to be very good fishermen and competitors. Congratulations to them for this nice victory!
