HALLOWEEN AT AQK8 Students in all grade levels are welcome to wear costumes on Wednesday, October 31st. There will be no class parties, although there will be a Costume Parade for students in grades K-5 at 2:00PM. Costume guidelines: Students should wear their costumes to school and be prepared to wear them all day. Costumes should not distract from learning, either your child s or another s. No masks of any kind may be worn. No face paint. No costumes with sound effects, lights or other components that may disrupt the learning environment. Costumes should be modest, tasteful and appropriate for a school environment. Costumes must permit students to sit and participate in the learning process for the day. Students with P.E. should wear or bring shoes that are safe for P.E. activities. Because we have younger students on our campus, we ask that scary characters not be part of the day. (Scream, Chuckie, Jason, etc.) Toy or facsimile weapons are not allowed. (swords, guns, knives, etc.) Students whose costumes do not meet the standards will be asked to call home for a change of clothing.

Sweet Tomatoes Spirit Night The chaos of getting back into the school week schedule just got reduced! We have a restaurant spirit night the Tuesday after break ends. No cooking and a healthy meal, with Quest earning some money! Mark your calendars for Quest spirit night at Sweet Tomatoes on October 23. Flyers are in your Friday Folder. Bring your family and friends out to enjoy a healthy dinner and support Quest at the same time. See you there! USAgain Recycling Contest $$$$ Are you doing some housecleaning over fall break? If you decide to clean out your overflowing closets, we know what you can do with your unwanted textiles. From October 15 th through November 15 th, 2018 USAgain is holding a contest to see which school can collect the most textiles for recycling. Three top recycling schools from each region will win cash prizes of $200, $150 and $100! All schools will raise funds based on the pounds of clothing and shoes recycled. Textiles in ANY condition are welcome. Even torn, stained, unwearable items will be recycled and put to use. Thank you Nick s Garden Center Have you seen that sign for Nick s Garden Center in our community garden? Did you know that this locally owned small business has graciously sponsored our garden since it opened a few years ago? This year, in addition to supporting the garden, they also agreed to donate to the fall festival! If you need more fall in your life, please stop by to tell them thank you for supporting Quest students! They are roasting chilies and kettle corn just waiting for you to visit their fall festival too!

Volunteers Needed for the Fall Festival We are reaching out and asking for your help to make this year's fall festival on October 26 th from 4-7pm one to remember! This year people who volunteer the day of to supervise (run) or create a game (sponsor) will automatically be entered to win a door prize!
