ABOUT AIR FORCE Record: 5-4 Last Result: W, vs. Mercer, 20-4 Up Next: vs. Fairfield, 4/14/12 Head Coach: Eric Seremet Air Force Record: 19-31 (Fourth year) Record: Same THIS WEEK... The Air Force lacrosse team is back in action this Sunday, April 8, when it hosts Bellarmine in an ECAC match-up. The game is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m. at Falcon Stadium. GAME INFORMATION Live Stats/Video: goairforcefalcons.com Series History: Air Force leads, 4-2 Last Meeting: Last season, the Falcons earned a 12-7 victory over the Knights in Louisville on April 9. LAST TIME OUT... Air Force posted its highest scoring output since 1997, defeating Mercer, 20-4, on Saturday afternoon in Falcon Stadium. Twelve different Falcons found the back of the net against the Bears, including junior Conor Hogan and freshmen Nate Hruby and Richie Sapp, who each notched the first goal of their respective careers. Freshman Keith Dreyer led the Falcons offense on Saturday, tallying six points (3g, 3a), five of which came in the opening period. Sophomore Mike Crampton added a career-high four goals as all 45 players who dressed for the game saw action. SCOUTING THE FALCONS... Air Force enters this weekend with a 5-4 overall record after registering a 20-4 victory over Mercer on Saturday. Freshman Keith Dreyer leads the Falcons offense with 38 points on the season, including a team-best 22 assists, while sophomore Mike Crampton is the team s top goal scorer with 22 tallies on the year. HEAD COACH ERIC SEREMET... Eric Seremet is in his fourth season at the helm of the Air Force lacrosse program. During the 2009 campaign, Seremet, a seven-year assistant for the Falcons, took over the reins from legendary coach Fred Acee, who retired following more than four decades in the coaching profession. Last season, Seremet guided a young team to a 6-7 overall record and a 3-3 ledger in ECAC action. In addition to tying for third place in the league standings, the Falcons won five of their last seven contests to reach six wins for just the third time in 14 years. Seremet, a 1992 North Carolina graduate, guided the Falcons to a 7-7 overall ledger in 2009, including a 4-1 record in the Great Western Lacrosse League and a second-place conference finish. Air Force s seven wins were the most since 2006 and more than in the previous two seasons combined, while the team finished at.500 for the first time since 1997. In 2010, Seremet helped lead the Falcons to an 8-7 overtime victory over service academy rival Army, marking the first-ever win for the Falcons over the rival Black Knights in Army s first trip to the Academy. SCOUTING THE KNIGHTS... Bellarmine currently holds a 3-4 overall record and 0-3 mark in the ECAC and will visit 11th-ranked conference foe Denver on Friday evening. The Knights are coming off a narrow 9-8 loss to 14th-ranked Fairfield. Colton Clark has registered a team-best 19 points on the season, including a team-leading nine assists. Meanwhile, Michael Ward is the leading goal scorer for the Knights, notching 15 goals. Meanwhile, Dillon Ward has been the leader between the pipes for Bellarmine, tallying 71 saves and a 9.49 goals against average.

In the latest national statistical rankings released by the NCAA (through games of April 1), Air Force ranks second in the nation in man-up offense (.619), while ranking in the top 20 in five other categories: assists per game (T8th/7.89), points per game (10th/19.89), shot percentage (10th/.326), scoring offense (T10th/12.0) and scoring margin (12th/+2.78). In addition, the Falcons have several players who are ranked among the top 35 nationally in various statistical categories. Freshman Keith Dreyer ranks third in the nation in assists per game with 2.44 and 10th nationally in points per game (4.22), while sophomore Mike Crampton ranks tied for 20th in goals per game (2.44). In addition, junior goalkeeper Austin Fox is ranked 31st in goals against average (10.11), tied for 32nd in save percentage (.506) and 33rd in saves per game (8.89). HOW THEY RATE... Through games of April 1, Bellarmine ranks 14th in the nation in man-down defense (.708), while ranking 15th in turnovers per game (14.29) and 16th in ground balls per game (31.14). Individually, goalkeeper Dillon Ward ranks 21st in saves per game (10.14), 26th in goals against average (9.5) and 29th in save percentage (.518), while Andrew Bulgarelli ranks 24th in face-off win percentage (.546).

BELLARMINE AT AIR FORCE P. 3 ECAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK... Freshman Keith Dreyer earned his second weekly ECAC honor of the season this week, as he was named the league s offensive player of the week. Dreyer led the Falcons in scoring in games versus Jacksonville and Mercer, scoring a combined 10 points (7g, 3a). Against the Dolphins, Dreyer tallied a career-high four goals to lead the Falcons to an 11-8 victory, registering two of his scores just six seconds apart in a 5-0 third-period run that sparked Air Force s win. Meanwhile, versus the Bears, Dreyer notched three goals and three assists, scoring five of his points in the opening quarter, as the Falcons rolled to a 20-4 victory. OFFENSIVE ONSLAUGHT... Air Force s offense was dominant in its win over Mercer on Saturday, posting 20 goals for the first time since the 1997 season. The Falcons, who scored 15 goals in the first half alone, also posted their highest scoring output against a Division I opponent since defeating Siena, 25-2, in 1995. SETTING SCORING RECORDS... Averaging 12.0 goals per contest this season, Air Force s offense is easily the most effective it has been since moving to a full Division I schedule in 1999. Over the past 14 seasons, the previous season-best scoring average has been 9.0 goals per game, achieved in 2009 and 2011. In addition, the Falcons, who have at least four games remaining on their schedule, have already tallied 108 goals this season, just 18 short of the single-season high of 126 that came in 2006 and 2009. DREYER S ASSISTS... Freshman Keith Dreyer has been an invaluable asset for the Falcons on the offensive end this season, currently leading the team with 38 points on the year. Dreyer also has registered 22 assists in 2012, becoming just the third Falcon over the past 14 seasons to record at least 20 assists in a single season, and the first to do so as a freshman. Will Meister, a 2007 USAFA graduate, reached the 20-assist mark in his sophomore (23), junior (27) and senior (20) seasons, while 2010 graduate Ridge Flick recorded a teamleading 22 assists in his junior year. THE FUTURE S BRIGHT... This season, the bulk of Air Force s offensive production has come from its underclassmen, who have scored 96 of the Falcons 108 goals on the year (88.9 percent) and 65 of 71 assists (91.5 percent). Of the seven Falcons who have registered at least 10 points this season, two are freshmen Keith Dreyer (38 pts.) and Ryland De Pol (12 pts.) while four others are sophomores Mike Crampton (26 pts.), Erik Smith (18 pts.), Tommy McKee (17 pts.) and Kyle Cassady (14 pts.). Just one upperclassman has notched more than five points this year, as junior Pat Harrison currently has 12 points on the season (7g, 5a). AT THE FACE-OFF X... Although Air Force has struggled on face-offs this season, the Falcons had strong performance against Denver and Jacksonville at the face-off X. On March 24 against Denver, which entered the game tied for fifth nationally in face-off win percentage, the Falcons earned the slight edge, winning 13-of-24 against the Pioneers. Meanwhile, Air Force had another solid performance at the face-off X against Jacksonville on March 27, winning 14-of-22 versus the Dolphins. Leading the way for the Falcons was sophomore Bryan Price, who won a combined 24-of-39 face-offs in the two contests. ECAC STANDINGS Team (Rankings) Conf. Pct. Overall Pct. The Greyhounds dominated offensively in the second half, winning 10-of-14 face-offs and outshooting the Falcons, 25-10. Air Force s only goal in the last two periods came with just 1:25 remaining to play. BEATING THE BLACK KNIGHTS... Air Force s win over Army on March 10 was just its second in the 18-game series against the Black Knights. After dropping the first 16 contests in the series, Air Force has won two in a row, beginning with an 8-7 overtime victory in Colorado Springs in 2010.

O Brien picked up a team-high six ground balls and registered a team-leading two caused turnovers in the Falcons 9-8 overtime victory over the Black Knights, registering his biggest takeaway in the final 1:15 of regulation with Air Force trailing 8-7. O Brien stripped the ball from Army s leading scorer, giving Air Force another possession and a chance to send the game into overtime. SCORING DEFENSE... Air Force had a spectacular defensive effort versus Quinnipiac on March 3, limiting the Bobcats to just 12 shots. The Falcons also held Quinnipiac to just three goals, marking the lowest scoring output for an Air Force opponent since a 9-3 win over VMI in 2002. LENDING A HAND... In Air Force s game versus Michigan on Feb. 26, the Falcons gave out assists on 14 of 15 goals scored, and scored 13 assists on 13 goals versus Quinnipiac on March 3. For the season, nearly 70 percent of Air Force s goals have been assisted; in contrast, just half of the Falcons goals in 2011 came off assists. DU FACE-OFF CLASSIC ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM... Three Air Force players senior Dayton Gilbreath, sophomore Erik Smith and freshman Keith Dreyer were named to the DU Face-Off Classic all-tournament team on Feb. 26. Gilbreath served as the anchor of the Falcons defensive unit during the DU Face- Off Classic, while also scoring his first point of the season. Smith registered eight points on the weekend, sharing the team lead with three goals against Robert Morris, while scoring a team-high five assists versus Michigan. Meanwhile, Dreyer scored a team-high 10 points in two games, including a team-best seven points (3g, 4a) versus the Wolverines. ECAC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK... Freshman Keith Dreyer became the first Air Force player to earn ECAC weekly honors this season, as he was named the league s rookie of the week on Feb. 27, following his performance at the DU Face-Off Classic. Dreyer was named to the all-tournament team at the DU Face-Off Classic after scoring 10 points in two games, including a team-best seven points (3g, 4a) in the Falcons victory over Michigan. Dreyer s seven points against the Wolverines were the most for an Air Force player in a single game since the 2005 season. FIRST START FOR FOX... Junior Austin Fox made his first career start in goal for the Falcons on Feb. 19, playing all 60 minutes against Rutgers. Fox had a solid performance versus the Scarlet Knights, recording nine saves, which was then a career-high. WE RE STILL YOUNG... For the second-straight season, Air Force s squad is characterized by its youth. Of the 47 players listed on the current roster, 33 are underclassmen, with 17 sophomores and 16 freshmen. Meanwhile, the Falcons junior and senior classes are both seven members deep. NOTABLE DEBUTS... Of the 21 Air Force players who saw action against Rutgers in the 2012 season opener, seven were members of the freshman class, including a pair of rookie starters, Keith Dreyer (A) and Davis Gunter (D). Dreyer made an immediate impact on offense, sharing the team lead with four points, while leading the Falcons in assists with three. PRESEASON ALL-ECAC... For the third-straight season, Dayton Gilbreath has been named to the Preseason All-ECAC team as a defensive selection. Gilbreath, a senior team captain from Bainbridge Island, Wash., is a four-year starter for the Falcons on defense. He has earned all-conference honors in each of his first three seasons, earning the accolade as a member of the GWLL in 2009 and the ECAC in 2010 and 2011. He was also named the GWLL Newcomer of the Year in his rookie season. Air Force s top cover man, Gilbreath finished the 2011 season with 30 ground balls and 14 caused turnovers. PRESEASON ECAC RANKINGS... In the preseason ECAC rankings voted on by the league s coaches, Air Force was selected to finish fifth in the conference. Denver, the two-time defending ECAC champion and 2011 national semifinalist, was chosen to claim its third league title. Loyola was picked to finish second, followed by Fairfield and Ohio State in third and fourth place, respectively. Rounding out the team projections were Air Force, Hobart and Bellarmine.
