FALCON ARCHERS The Aerie January 2018 Newsletter It is time to pay your Annual Dues! The gate and indoor range door are being re-keyed. Keys will be distributed at the February 14, 2018 meeting. All working members should have completed their work assignments or their make-up work assignments at that time in order to receive their new keys. There will be several opportunities between now and February 14, 2018 to work a shoot or work around the club. Contact Tim Sheriff to schedule work. Those who haven t completed their work assignments will be expected to transition to a social membership. Also, there will be a mandatory workday January 27. We ll start between 7:30 and 8:00 am. Tony was nominated and voted in as a Falcon Life Member. Congrats Tony and thanks for all you do for the club! We are keeping a single volunteer sign-up list on our Facebook sit to eliminate duplications and lack of coverage. Please logon to volunteer. If you don t have ready access to a computer, please call Tim Sheriff, and he will put you on the list. The new target structure, framing, and curtain look great! Thanks to all those that helped put it all together! Special thanks to Jeff for the curtain! The Annual Snowflake Shoot held on January 5, 6, and 7. Was a great success! We had approximately 81 shooters! Thanks to all those who participated, and all those who worked! We couldn t do it without you! The indoor winter league started Tuesday, January 16. We are shooting a 450 round while counting the X s. We are shooting Tuesdays at 7:00 pm, but will also shoot on Thursday s. If you shoot both nights, you will be able to post your highest score for the week. What a deal! Now that it is January, JOAD is shooting on Monday nights. JOAD will also be having a tournament on January 19th, 20th, and 21 st. We will be holding the Falcon 600 shoot on February 2 nd, 3 rd, and 4 th. The club is also in need of the following working positions: o Kitchen Stocker o Kitchen Committee Member Please contact Tim Sheriff to make arrangements for a make-up if you need one. Working a tournament is a great way to make-up a work assignment! Besides, it s great fun and a great opportunity to connect with your fellow archers! The benches still need to be sealed. Anyone having pictures from tournaments or hunts please forward copies to me for inclusion in the newsletter. We appreciate the efforts that have been made to conserve heating oil like closing doors between the meeting room and the range when shooting.. General Information Be sure to review the various shoot flyers and other relevant information that is posted on the bulletin boards. Falcon Archery logo items are available online. There is a new tee shirt. Order a new shirt today! We also have new stickers available. The club is thinking about offering Archery 101 classes for new shooters. Shoot Fees & Membership Card Don t forget to sign in and pay the shoot fee every time you shoot indoors or out. Also, don t forget to display your Falcon membership card while on the property. Work Assignments Be sure to finish work assignments in a timely manner. Next Meeting Meetings are always the second Wednesday of the month. The next meeting will be February 14, 2018 at 8:00 pm.
