indoor / outdoor INSTALLATION GUIDE
TEQBALL ONE INSTALLATION GUIDE This document contains a description of the Teqball One multifunctional sports equipment installation. This guide recommends using specific types of screws (defined below) compatible for concrete substructure. It is optional to use other types of screws not listed in this guide, but Teqball strictly recommends using the screws mentioned below. In the case of using other types of screws, Teqball recommends installing the table with the help of a substructure specialist/technician. LIST OF TOOLS REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION 2 pieces HILTI M12x35 galvanized hexagon screws (DIN 933; ISO 4017) 2 pieces HILTI HKD-SR M12x50 drop-in (flush) anchors 1 piece HILTI HSD-G M12 setting tool 2 pieces HILTI HUS3-C 10x90 countersunk carbon steel screw anchors Rotary hammer Impact wrench POWER REQUIREMENTS OF INSTALLATION TOOLS Rotary hammer Voltage: 22 V Chuck: ½ square drive Maximum Torque: 450 Nm Impact wrench Voltage: 22 V Single impact energy: 2 Joule Full hammering frequency: 5200 impacts/minute 1. INSTALLATION CONDITIONS The table should always be assembled on a level surface. On uneven surfaces the screws can tighten and may be difficult or even impossible to screw in. The table empty weight is 161 kg. Please follow the steps in the Assembly Instructions document and assemble the table to the 3 rd step to reduce the potential risk of injury and to facilitate the handling and positioning of the leg structure when you screw in the anchors. Open the package, then lay down the 2 tabletops on the floor until assembly (1. Figure). The leg structure of the table is equipped with adjustable plastic foot. The soil below must be at least 7 N/mm 2 tight. Hereinafter you can read the Teqball recommendation in case of installation of various ground covers. 1. Figure: The position of the tabletop during installation
2. INSTALLATION IN CASE OF DIFFERENT SOIL COVER The recommended size of the Teqball court in each case is 10 m long, 8 m wide and 4 m high. The table is positioned symmetrically in the middle of this 10 m x 8 m rectangular area. In the case of the table being located outdoors, a 1,5 m x 1 m x minimum 0,1 m deep concrete base is required (in 2. Figure). For the different types of soil cover follow the steps below. 4 m 8 m 10 m 1 m 1,5 m 2. Figure: Standard-size Teqball court, in the middle of which is placed the Teqball table. If outdoors the table is fixed on a 1,5 x 1 x 0,1 m concrete base 2.1 NATURAL SOIL 1. 2. 3. 4. The recommended size of the Teqball court is 10 m x 8 m. Make sure to have at least this size of area available with a level surface and then select a 1,5 m x 1 m section in the middle of it! Dig-out the selected part to a depth of 0,1 m! Make sure that the soil quality is good enough! Recommended value for the tightness of 7 N/mm 2. In case of insufficient density, a vibratory rammer can easily be configured to prepare the ground. Stir in as much concrete as the 1,5 m x 1 m x 0,1 m excavation needs to be sufficiently filled out! Fill the cavity with the mixed concrete! Please note that by the end of the process the newly installed concrete base needs to be flush with the natural ground level and the newly laid concrete base. Wait until the concrete dries and hardens completely! Select the location of the holes on the surface of the concrete base according to 5. Figure and then depending on what type of screw you use, follow the recommended steps in section 2.7 or 2.8! 2.2 EXISTING CONCRETE OR ASPHALT PAVEMENT 1. 2. 3. The recommended size of the Teqball court is 10 m x 8 m. Make sure to have at least this area of size available with a level surface and then select a 1,5 m x 1 m section in the middle of it! Check that the concrete or asphalt layer thickness is at least 0,1 m! If it is less than that, then the cover must be excavated to a minimum of 0,1 m and the cavity filled with concrete and made flush with the existing paving. Wait until the concrete dries and hardens completely! Select the location of the holes on the surface of the concrete base or the pavement according to 5. Figure5. Figure and then depending on what type of screw you use, follow the recommended steps in section 2.7 or 2.8! 3
2.3 ARTIFICIAL TURF 1. 2. 3. 4. The recommended size of the Teqball court is 10 m x 8 m. Make sure to have at least this size of area available with a level surface and then select a 1,5 m x 1 m section in the middle of it! In the designated area, gather up the artificial turf covering to a depth of 0,1 m. If the covering is less than 0,1 m, then the layer underneath must be excavated as well to achieve the level required. If it is a concrete base underneath, this must be excavated so that the total layer thickness of the excavated covering and concrete is a minimum 0,1 m. If it is less, the concrete has to be excavated so that the depth of the cavity is minimum 0,1 m. If you wish to re-lay the artificial grass, the thickness of the grass should be included in the required depth of excavation. Fill up the cavity with a minimum of 0,1 m thick concrete layer and wait until it dries and hardens completely! Select the location of the holes on the surface of the concrete base according to 5. Figure and then depending on what type of screw you use, follow the recommended steps in section 2.7 or 2.8! 60 mm artificial turf Rubber granulate, silica sand Backing layer with weep holes Shock-absorbing layer Shock-absorbing layer Balancing filter layer, antifreeze crushed stone, compression 85-95% Geotextile Compressed natural soil Polyurethane Matte Layer Polyurethane Layer Polyurethane Layer Pore Filler Pre-Fabric Elastic Layer Adhesive Concrete 3. 2.4 SYNTHETIC COVER 1. 2. 3. 4. The recommended size of the Teqball court is 10 m x 8 m. Make sure to have at least this size of area available with a level surface and then select a 1,5 m x 1 m section in the middle of it! In the selected area, remove the synthetic covering to the natural soil layer! If there is an asphalt base beneath, the total layer thickness of the removed covering and asphalt has to be a minimum of 0,1 m. If it is less, the asphalt has to be excavated so that the depth of the cavity is minimum 0,1 m. If you wish to re-lay the synthetic covering, the thickness of the synthetic covering must be included in the required depth of excavation. Fill up the cavity with a minimum of 0,1 m thick concrete layer and then wait until it dries and hardens completely! Select the location of the holes on the surface of the concrete base according to 5. Figure and then depending on what type of screw you use, follow the recommended steps in section 2.7 or 2.8! EPDM Layer Polyurethane Layer Elastic Layer Primer Asphalt Layer 4. Figure: Average synthetic cover layer structure. 2.5 OUTDOOR STONE 1. 2. 3. The recommended size of the court is 10 m x 8 m. Make sure to have at least this size of area available with level surface and then select a 1,5 m x 1 m section in the middle of it! Inspect the thickness of the paving. The minimum thickness required is 0,1 m. Drilling is required to fix the table in position, and the thickness of the paving is important to avoid breaking it up. If the paving thickness is less than 0,1 m then the outdoor stone must be excavated to an area of 1,5m x 1m x 0,1 m deep and filled with concrete. Wait until it hardens and dries completely! Select the location of the holes on the surface of the concrete or the paving according to 5. Figure and depending on what type of screw you use, follow the recommended steps in section 2.7 or 2.8! 2.6 OTHER TYPES OF GROUND COVERING The recommended size of a Teqball court is 10 m x 8 m. For all other types of ground covering, fill an 1,5 m x 1 m and 0,1 m deep cavity with concrete in the middle of the selected area and select the location of the holes on the surface of the concrete base according to 5. Figure and then depending on what type of screw you use, follow the recommended steps in section 2.7 or 2.8! 5. Figure: Position of the holes (left), enlarged rhombus with the holes (right)
2.7 FASTENING PROCESS WITH DETACHABLE STANDARD NUT For temporary installation, use the HSA-type of galvanized hexagon screw and the HKD-SR drop-in (flush) anchor, which are illustrated in 6. Figure. 6. Figure: HSA galvanized hexagon screw (left) and HKD-SR drop in anchor. THE INSTALLATION PROCESS IS AS FOLLOWS Remove the Q-lid from the leg structure (if it is in the proper position)! With the rotary hammer drill two 15 mm diameter and 55 mm deep holes! Blow out the generated dust from the holes! Strike the anchors into the holes with a hammer so that the top of the anchors are flush with the surface of the concrete! Use the HILTI HSD-G M12x50 or HSD-M M12x50 setting tool to widen the bottom of the anchors as shown in 7. Figure! Position the table right over the holes and then screw in the galvanized hexagon screws. Adjust the impact wrench to the value of 30 Nm and begin to insert the screws.
