w e l c o m e t o d b d r a g r a c i n g db Drag Racing is an auto sound competition format where two cars compete head-to-head to see who has the loudest car stereo. This type of event is perfect for crowd participation. The dbdra is currently tracking over 45,000 competitors ranging in age from 18-34 years old. All of these competitors have one thing in common...cars. And they are really proud of them! Our competitors spend anywhere from $200-$500,000+ on their audio systems and aftermarket accessories. These contestants are driving all types of vehicles, from your daily driver GEO Prisms to fully gutted and fabricated Ford Astro Vans with walls of woofers and racks of amps and batteries. The db Drag Racing competition season is off to a phenomenal start in 2005. As you may have heard, in addition to our regularly scheduled shows, db Drag Racing will be promoting a tour consisting of 50 XM Radio sponsored events throughout the United States. Each event will take place at an independent auto sound retail location. Highlights of the Radio to the Power of X tour include a turn-key db Drag Racing event at no charge to the retailer; free admission to all contestants; free db Drag Racing memberships to all first-time contestants; trophies and other prizes awarded at each event; each event officiated by a Multipoint Certified db Drag Racing judge; each event will be broadcast over the Internet in real-time via dbtv. World Finals participants who compete in 10 or more tour events will also receive a db Drag Racing leather jacket. At the end of the season, qualified db Drag Racing contestants will gain an invitation to compete at the World Finals. The 8th Annual db Drag Racing World Finals will be held at the IX Center in Cleveland, OH on October 7-9, 2005. Cleveland was selected because of its proximity to the majority of db Drag Racing competitors and the area s love for cars and car shows. This is an ideal market for a show like ours. Tens of thousands of spectators routinely attend car shows in the Cleveland market. We hope to leverage this interest in cars at our show this fall. This year, the dbdra will be awarding FOUR NEW VEHICLES and more than 100 trophies to the winners at the World Finals. Vehicles will be awarded to Deathmatch winners in the Street, Street Max, Super Street and Extreme divisions. Other activities at the FOUR NEW VEHICLES and more than 100 trophies will be awarded to the winners at the 2005 db Drag Racing World Finals show include; Bass Race competition, video-gaming competition, car show, bikini contest, MECA State Finals and much, much more. Each country hosts a minimum of 5 events per season, with some countries hosting up to 150 events per season. To wrap up the end of the season, many countries host a finals event and towards the end of the year, the db Drag Racing Association hosts a European finals event where competitors from all over Europe compete. The growth in the international market of db Drag Racing has risen substantially each season. The passion of the international competitor is equal to that of the competitors in the States. With everyone s statistics on the db Drag Racing website, the camaraderie and competitive spirit are noticeable on the audio forum of the website. The db Drag Racing website has helped to bridge the gap that the ocean sets between the various countries. The db Drag Racing Association has implemented a nationwide tour that will be produced by db Drag Racing staff. The tour, aptly named Radio to the Power of X will consist of 50 events located throughout the USA. Each event will be provided to select retailers free of charge. In addition, the entry fee for competitors will be waived at these tour events. First time competitors will receive a free membership to the db Drag Racing Association and trophies will be awarded to winners in each class. All competitors will receive a personalized Certificate of Achievement with their name, class, and SPL printed on the document. The db Drag Racing Association and XM Satellite Radio will be awarding four new vehicles to Deathmatch winners at the World Finals. (Deathmatch is a grueling contest where the top contestants in each class compete against one another in a 5 minute average SPL competition.) Historically, the Deathmatch contest has been comprised of competitors with the highest overall sound pressure levels regardless of class. In 2005, each db Drag Racing division (Street, Street Max, Super Street, and Extreme) will have its own Deathmatch contest, with the winner of each contest receiving a brand new vehicle. To further encourage competitors to participate in the tour, the dbdra will be awarding special embroidered leather jackets to each World Finals participant who competes in 10 or more of the Radio to the Power of X tour events. Dealer Hosting Requirements: Dealer must be an XM Authorized Retailer. Dealer must host a minimum of one db Drag Racing event prior to the tour event. db Drag Racing will provide: Multipoint Certified judge Event listing and advertising on the db Drag Racing website All equipment necessary to judge the event Trophies for 1st 3rd place winners Certificate of participation to ALL competitors Competitors will accrue db Drag points Free admission to competitors Free db Drag membership to all first time competitors Resource CD ROM with db Drag logo, XM logo and pre-designed flyers There are still some tour event dates available.
