Our skippers have through rope skipping had the chance to experience the world by travelling to all previous events. Now we have the pleasure of welcoming our fellow rope skippers from all corners of the world to Sweden and Malmö. The sport of rope skipping is constantly expanding and today there are close to 40 countries from 5 different continents, participating in various competitions around the world During 10 days in July and August 2016 most of the countries and their teams will be competing for 16 Over All titles. About Event Locations VENUES Baltiskahallen Stadionområdet (The Stadion area) is an area with endless possibilities for creating world class events. The area consists of Malmö Stadion, Swedbank Stadium, Atleticum, Baltiska Hallen, Kombihallen, Isstadion and Baltiska Träningshallen. Together the facilities offer great conditions for hosting an event. The Stadion area is within easy access from hotels and the city center by foot or by Metro. This area is perfect for providing competing area as well as practice area during the time of the championship. Baltiska Hallen is a multipurpose arena with an audience capacity of 4077 people. The floor area is estimated at 48 x 25 m and thus provides the hall good spaces for the World Rope Skipping Championship to play out on. Together with the City of Malmö we can adapt the premises needed for the event. With its central position Baltiska Hallen (Baltic Hall) is a classic arena that has hosted many major events since it was built in 1964. It was completely renovated in 2008.
Competition Structure World Championships 15+ Team Female, Male, Open 15+ Masters Female, Male 15+ World Cup Open Junior World Championships 12-14 Team Female, Male, Open 12-14 Masters Female, Male Swedish Open Tournament 15+Team Female, Male, Open 15+ Masters Female, Male Swedish Open Tournament Team At least one skipper needs to be 15+ (born in 2001 or before) The other skippers can be younger but need to be at least 12 years old (born in 2004 or before) Age limitation WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 15+ Team and masters Skippers must be born in 2001 or before. No age exceptions. JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 12-14 Team and masters Skippers must be born in 2002, 2003 or 2004. No age exceptions are allowed SWEDISH OPEN TOURNAMENT 15 + Team and masters At least one skipper needs to be 15+ (born in 2001 or before) The others skipper can be younger but need to be at least 12 years old (born in 2004 or before) No other exceptions are allowed. WORLD CUP All skippers competing in the World Cup must be 15 years of age and older. Skippers must be born in 2001 or before.
