The Garvin County 4-H Council Officers and the Achievement Committee would like to invite all Garvin County 4-H members to come out and enjoy an evening of good food and to honor our outstanding 4-Hers. All members turning in record books and completed medal folders, County 4-H Club Council Officers, Delegates to Denver Western Roundup, Kansas City Conference, Citizenship Washington Focus, 4-H State Roundup, State Meat Judging Contest, Youth Action Conference, and District Share-The-Fun, First place winners of all county contests and all 4-Hers placing first, second, and third places at out-of-county events will be recognized and are invited to enjoy the evening meal free of charge. All other 4-H members, parents and guests are invited to attend as well. The cost for the meal for 4-H members not being recognized, parents and guests will be $5.00. The Brisket for the meal is sponsored by Pauls Valley National Bank, the side dishes will be provided by the leaders counsel and we will enjoy pies from Field s Pies for dessert. Please be sure to arrive early and spend some time looking at the club display booths and 4-Hers working displays that will be set up before the meal. This is sure to be an enjoyable evening, don t miss it! Please call the Extension Office at (405) 238-6681 by July 12 to RSVP that your family will be joining us for the banquet so that we have an accurate count for the meal. Important Reminders Regarding Both State Fairs - In order to be eligible to show in a Junior Show at Oklahoma City or Tulsa, exhibitors must have turned 9 years old and have a 4-H enrollment card on file in the Extension Office on or before July 1, 2010. - July 1 is the Tulsa Nomination Deadline for Sheep, Goats and Barrows - 4-H and FFA Entries must be done online by the Extension Office or the Ag Ed Teacher. Entry Deadlines: OK State Fair - August 16 Tulsa State Fair - August 27 - Ok State Fair Dress Code: Exhibitors must dress with pride in clean pressed jeans, clean shirt with collar and club emblem (4-H or FFA). 4-H and FFA jackets are acceptable but not required. T- shirts, tennis shoes, and headwear are not allowed. - Tulsa 4-H & FFA Dress Code: All junior exhibitors will be required to wear appropriate dress representing their organization. FFA: Official FFA jacket, clean pressed jeans, clean shirt with collar, regulation FFA tie and white shirts optional. 4-H: Official 4-H jacket that is dark or kelly green in color, with a 4-H Clover (green with white H s) either on the back, that is no smaller than seven inches and/or on the front that is at least three inches in size, clean, pressed jeans, clean shirt with collar, tie or scarf optional. NOTICE: If Show Management declares the temperature too warm for exhibitor to wear official 4-H or FFA jackets, the exhibitor must wear a solid clean white shirt with solid white collar and the shirt must have either a 4-H or FFA emblem visible.
