NEW YORK RED BULLS vs D.C. United MLS Regular Season Match 7 Saturday, April 15, 2017 7:30 p.m. ET Red Bull Arena (25,189) Harrison, N.J. OPENING KICKOFF The New York Red Bulls (2-3-1, 7 pts) open their three-match homestand against Atlantic Cup rival D.C. United (2-2- 1, 7 pts) at Red Bull Arena on Saturday. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. ET, with coverage on MSG, MSG GO and New York Red Bulls Radio. New York Red Bulls Radio goes live at 6:30 p.m. ET with Countdown to Kickoff, hosted by Matt Harmon. New York is 37-34-20 all-time and 3-6-3 under head coach Jesse Marsch in the month of April. The Red Bulls have outscored its opponent, 122-111, in the fourth month of the year. Since Jan. 23, the New York Red Bulls have not stayed in Harrison, New Jersey for more than 10 calendar days. This trend will change this weekend as New York will stay in the state of New Jersey for three consecutive matches, spanning from April 15 through April 29. New York will have its first of two three-match homestands, beginning this Saturday against D.C. United. The Red Bulls will then host Columbus on April 22 and conclude with Chicago on April 29. Saturday s match between New York and D.C. United marks the first of three meetings in 2017 to decide the winner of the Atlantic Cup. Since the opening of Red Bull Arena in 2010, New York is 7-2-3 against D.C. at home. The Red Bulls have tallied a clean sheet against their rival in seven of the previous 12 matches at RBA. New York has outscored D.C. United, 16-7, at Red Bull Arena. The seven Red Bull homegrown players on the roster combined for just 574 minutes through six games last season. In 2017, the same seven players have racked up 1,073 minutes. The 1,073 minutes are the most minutes for homegrown players on a single club in MLS in 2017. United marks the first of three meetings in 2017 to decide the winner of the Atlantic Cup. United has won the title 10 times, while New York has garnered the title five times. UNITED The match on Sept. 11, 2016 at Red Bull Arena began with a memorial ceremony for the 15th anniversary of 9/11. It ended in a wild 2-2 draw that saw New York head into the 89th minute up 2-0 before D.C. United clawed back to tie the match five minutes into second-half stoppage time. Gonzalo Veron opened the scoring with a brave header on the goal line following a penetrating run from Sacha Kljestan, and Bradley Wright-Phillips added his MLS-leading 18th goal of the season in the second half, pounding a shot past DC keeper Bill Hamid on the break. It looked like that would be more than enough to give the Red Bulls the three points that would have landed them atop the Eastern Conference standings. Of course, in the Atlantic Cup, looks can be deceiving. First, Steve Birnbaum pulled a goal back in the 89th minute, slotting home in the 18-yard box. Then, Lamar Neagle put the finishing touch on the comeback late in stoppage time by bundling the ball in following a corner kick. 5 NewYorkRedBulls.com 5

THAT S A LOT OF OFFENSE The New York Red Bulls recorded their 1,000th career MLS goal on April 1 against Houston when Bradley Wright-Phillips scored his second goal of the season in the 13th minute. New York became just the third club in MLS history to reach the milestone, joining the LA Galaxy and D.C. United. The Red Bulls achieved the feat in their 667th game as a club. Not only did the Red Bulls record 1,000 MLS goals, they joined the 1,000-1,000 MLS club. Along with the LA Galaxy and D.C. Five of the seven homegrown players have been given the nod to at least start one game this season. Midfielder Sean Davis started the first three games of the season before coming off the bench against Real Salt Lake. Versus Real Salt Lake, three of the 11 Red Bull starters were homegrown players as Tyler Adams, Connor Lade and Alex Muyl found themselves in the Starting XI. For the second game in a row, New York implemented three homegrowns in the starting lineup, featuring Derick Etienne, Adams and Lade against Houston. New York rookie defender Hassan Ndam hails from Cameroon, also a French-speaking nation. BALANCED ATTACK In 2016, 13 different players found the back of the net for the Red Bulls in league play. That number tied for fifth-most goal scorers on any MLS team. D.C. United (18) has the most, while the L.A. Galaxy (14), Portland (14), and NYC FC (14) are also ahead of the Red Bulls. Fifteen players netted a goal during the 2015 regular season, six more than in 2014. Through the first four matches in 2017, New York has tallied two different goal scorers. Daniel Royer and Bradley Wright-Phillips have each found the back of the net for the Red Bulls to begin the 2017 campaign. GOALS IN BUNCHES Once the Red Bulls offense got going in 2016, it proved tough to slow down. New York scored goals in quick succession in six games last year. Against Montreal, Bradley Wright-Phillips and Sean Davis struck five minutes apart, on either side of half time, to put the game away, as Davis goal pushed the scoreline to 3-1. The Red Bulls goals against LA (8/7) came just six minutes apart, with Davis strike following up Veron s run and chip of the goalkeeper. The Red Bulls struck twice with Wright-Phillips and Ronald Zubar finding the back of the net in the 20th and 23rd minutes to break open the third NY Derby. It was the fourth time this season that the Red Bulls have scored two goals in five minutes or less. Most notably in the 7-0 win against New York City FC, Wright-Phillips scored twice at the end of the first half, in the 42 nd minute and again in stoppage time. New York then got two goals in five minutes at the start of the second half, with goals in the 51st and 56th minutes. The sixth and seventh goals also came back-to-back, in the 83 rd and 89 th minutes. The Red Bulls put away three in 10 minutes in a 3-2 win over Orlando, including two from BWP just six minutes apart. Wright-Phillips also completed the fastest hat trick in league history with his second and third goals in the 25th and 27 th minutes in a 3-0 win over Toronto FC in May. Felipe struck twice inside seven minutes to tie and then win a match against Houston with a strike from outside the box and then a dazzling free kick goal. The Red Bulls scored in the 53rd, 58th, and 70th minutes to jump out to a 3-0 lead over Columbus. NOT A TYPO The New York Red Bulls seven-goal explosion against New York City FC set a new franchise record for goals scored in a single game. The performance also tied an MLS record for largest margin of victory, tying an LA Galaxy 8-1 win from 1998 and a 7-0 Chicago Fire win in 2001. The Red Bulls are just the fourth team in league history to score seven or more goals in a match. New York entered the day with a -6 goal differential and left Yankee Stadium with a +1 differential and the most goals scored in the Eastern Conference this season. With goals from NYC native Alex Muyl, Gideon Baah and Gonzalo Veron, it marks the first time in MLS history that all three substitutes have scored in a match. 8 NewYorkRedBulls.com 8

UNITED DID YOU KNOW? New York has 76 regular season wins at home since Red Bull Arena opened in 2010. New York has the most wins and the most points at home in MLS in that time. Sacha Kljestan set a new franchise single-season record and led all of MLS with 20 assists in 2016. He had five multi-assist games, including two two-assist games against NYC FC. With 36 assists in 70 regular season appearances, Kljestan is the all-time franchise leader with 0.51 assists per game. Bradley Wright-Phillips won his second Golden Boot in three seasons last year with 24 goals. BWP did not score from the penalty spot, making the feat that much more impressive. BWP made up for a slow start (no goals in first seven games) by netting 15 goals in the last 13 games of the season, and only being held scoreless twice in that span. Following a goal against Seattle, Wright-Phillips became the third fastest player to 70 goals in MLS history, behind Roy Lassiter (104 gms) and Robbie Keane (106). BWP earned his 70th in his 110th MLS appearance, against Seattle on 3/19. With an assist at D.C. on August 21, BWP became the eighth player in club history to record at least 15 goals and 15 assists in regular season play. Kljestan (1 G) and Grella (2 A) are on the verge of reaching that mark. Luis Robles set the MLS record for consecutive appearances, 142, on March 11 against Colorado. Robles is the franchise leader in wins (68), shutouts (41) and appearances in goal (146). Ryan Meara s start in the Open Cup on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 was the first time a New York goalie other than Luis Robles has played a competitive minute since the CONCACAF Champions League in 2014, when Meara started against Montreal on October 22. Four of Felipe s five goals last season came from outside the box. Per OPTA, he tied for the most goals from outside the box in MLS. New York s seven-goal performance against NYC FC set a new franchise record for goals in a game, and tied an MLS record for largest margin of victory. Bradley Wright-Phillips is the club s all-time goals leader in MLS (71) and across all competitions (78). BWP surpassed Thierry Henry s club record with 20 game-winning goals, the most in franchise history. UP NEXT New York remains at Red Bull Arena for the next two matches. The Red Bulls will continue their three-match homestand against Columbus on Saturday, April 22. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on MSG. The match will also be carried on Red Bulls Radio in English and Spanish. 9 NewYorkRedBulls.com 9
