A.G. Coombs Servicing Pty Ltd AUTHORISATION OH&S Manual Service Technicians Summary of Safe Work Method Statements Minimum PPE The minimum personal protective equipment which an employee of A.G. Coombs NSW should wear when required at an operating site are the five following items: - Hard Hat or bump caps (where required / appropriate) - Safety glasses or goggles - Hearing protection - Gloves - Safety shoes / boots All of the PPE items must be certified to the relevant Australian Standard for that product. This would be indicated by an Australian Product StandardsMark imprinted on the item or the packaging as per the adjacent stamp: Appendix

TARGET RISK: is the assessed risk after the control measure/s have been implemented. 6 and 7 Medium 5 Low The hazard presents an unacceptable combination of the Likelihood of occurrence versus the seriousness of the resulting injury. The hazard is unlikely to cause significant injury or the probability of a serious injury is Rare or has Never occurred. A risk category of LOW is required before work proceeds. Appropriate control measure/s MUST be implemented until a LOW risk category (risk rating score of 5 or less) is achieved. To derive the Risk Rating Score, the following steps are followed: 1) Assess the Likelihood (ie Risk) 2) Establish the Consequences The intersection of the two provides the risk rating score. Pushing an object Pulling an object Pushing and pulling objects, causing leg, arm and back muscle strain or damage 5 Pushing and pulling to be carried out as close as possible in the upright position. Carrying an Object Placing an Object Carrying and placing objects, causing stomach, forearm, back and leg muscle strain or damage 5 When carrying and placing objects the following must be followed Make Clear Path Size up the load Correct feet position, Bend knees to lift with legs Support with hands and arms then walk Bend knees to place load Moving Materials on site Falling Objects. Slips, Trips and Falls- Puncture and Crush injuries 5 When moving materials on site- the following must be considered Trolleys or pallet jacks are to be used to move large quantities of materials around the site 2 Materials should be well tied down with no sharp protruding edges Ensure safe access from storage area to workface Note load ratings on trolleys and pallet jacks and make sure they are in good working condition Ensure adequate access and egress before moving materials, Wears Gloves and protective clothing.
