July 2012 Find Us On Facebook: www.facebook.com/worldhapkidoassociation Editor s Letter: Greetings WHA members and friends! What s Inside: Highlights from the Second Annual Pro Hapkido Tournament, Parker, Colorado Korean Terms WHA International Summer Camp, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania The WHA Welcomes: Donald Miller, Lacey Washington Kevin Tu, Lancaster, PA Steven Miller, Lacey WA Dominic Villarreal, Brownsville TX Summer is upon us and we are excited to see another well planned WHA summer camp quickly approaching. This year's camp will be help in Pittsburgh and hosted by WHA member Mr. Joe Cosentino. At the end of this newsletter you will find a registration form for the camp as well as information on ordering a special summer camp jacket. Additionally, I would like to congratulate all the modern warriors who participated in the 2nd Annual Rocky Mountain Pro-HapKiDo Championship sponsored by WHA Secretary General - Master Dan Piller. A lot of time and planning went into this exceptional event and it should be an annual event that HapKiDo players mark on their calendar each year! Please see below for results from this year's competition. Next, the WHA newsletter has been going through a transitional period and on behalf of the WHA I would like to thank Mr. Mike Barnard for stepping up and producing an excellent newsletter during the months of May and June. However, with his increasingly busy schedule, I will now be acting as the Supervising Editor for the WHA newsletter and Mr. Dug Weston (WHA 3rd Dan) will be acting as the Chief Editor. We look forward to seeing the WHA newsletter grow and would like submissions from our members based around: HapKiDo training, HapKiDo teaching, the HapKiDo lifestyle as well as any articles based around general fitness. All submissions should be sent directly to me at: mhendrix@essentialmartialarts.com no later than the 15th of each month. In short, the WHA has a lot of talented members and we want to hear from YOU. Also, remember, you need not be an instructor or even a black belt to submit an article for consideration. Additionally we are looking for motivated individuals who might be interested in producing a regular monthly column for the WHA newsletter. If you think you might be up for the challenge, please let me know and we will discuss the possibility. -Master Monty Hendrix WHA Eastern U.S. Director & WHA Newsletter Supervising Editor
