THE MISSION OF BISHOP CHATARD Bishop Chatard High School, a dynamic educational environment for young men and women with different life experiences, is directed to the success of each student, focused on the growth of the whole person, and modeled on the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Bishop Chatard High School prepares students for a life-long commitment to FAITH, LEARNING, LEADERSHIP, & SERVICE. 97 percent of Bishop Chatard students participate in annual retreats. FAITH All students participate in weekly celebration of the Mass at Bishop Chatard. Nearly 4 of every 5 graduates receive college credit through Advanced Placement or Dual Credit classes. LEARNING The Class of 2017 earned over $23 million in college scholarships and grants. Bishop Chatard is one of 71 high schools in the nation and one of only three in Indiana to receive the prestigious Cardinal Newman Award. LEADERSHIP The Summa Cum Laude program recognizes academic excellence and a more extensive participation in the school and community at large. Eight graduates earned this distinction in 2017. Approximately 18,000 service hours are completed annually at Bishop Chatard, averaging 25 per student. SERVICE Bishop Chatard s Campus Ministry and Religious Education programs offer diverse mission trip and outreach opportunities. NEARLY 45% OF NORTH DEANERY 8TH GRADE STUDENTS CHOSE BISHOP CHATARD HIGH SCHOOL IN 2016, MAKING IT THE #1 HIGH SCHOOL PREFERENCE FOR THE CLASS OF 2020.
BISHOP CHATARD EVENTS The Bishop Chatard community supports businesses and organizations that support our students! Alumni, current and past parents, and friends come together for special moments throughout the year to provide the momentum for our Archdiocesan North Deanery high school to fulfill its mission. Local businesses and organizations have the opportunity to connect with thousands in the Trojan community through sponsorship of school events. ANNUAL FUND DINNER SEPTEMBER 2017 Bishop Chatard s Annual Fund Dinner is the kick-off event for the Archdiocesan high school s Annual Fund campaign. In 2016, 700 alumni, parents and friends gathered, donating over $699,000 to support teacher compensation and student financial aid programs. ALUMNI GOLF OUTING SEPTEMBER 2017 (HOMECOMING WEEKEND) Tee off with the Trojans! $30,000 was raised last year to support the Harv Sutton Fund for Tuition Assistance, continuing Bishop Chatard s mission to provide a Catholic education to all who seek it. Golfers of all age and experience levels make this event a Trojan tradition. TRIVIA NIGHT JANUARY 2018 Bishop Chatard s newest annual event has become one of our most popular! Always a sell-out, Trivia Night teases and tests the mind as parent and alumni teams compete for the coveted Trivia Night trophy. Our 2017 Trivia Night raised over $25,000! CHATARD-A-BRATION FEBRUARY 2018 It s Bishop Chatard s party of the year! More than 600 people celebrated Nashville Nights in 2017, raising $250,000 to support BCHS. Our Oktoberfest in February 2018 promises to be even more exciting or, as they say in Germany, noch spannender!
