Milwaukee is 14 games over.500 for the first time since finishing the 2000-01 season 52-30. Thursday s 16-point victory was Milwaukee s NBA-high-tying 16th win of the season by 10+ points and its third consecutive win by double digits. The Bucks continue to lead the NBA with an 8.8 points per game differential this season. Milwaukee remains the only team in the NBA to rank inside the top five of both offensive (T-4th, 110.2) and defensive (3rd, 102.1) rating, while its net rating of 8.1 is the best in the league. The Bucks tallied their NBA-high 19th game of the season with 50+ rebounds against the Knicks on Thursday as they hauled in 57 boards. Milwaukee is averaging a league-high 50.2 rebounds per game this season, which is on pace to be the highest mark by any team since the 1977-78 season (New Orleans, 51.4; Washington 50.8). Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded his second consecutive game with 30+ points and 10+ rebounds on Thursday as he scored 31 points with 14 rebounds, eight assists and four blocks. Dec. 25, 2018 at New York W, 109-95 Playing on Christmas Day for the first time since 1977, the Bucks defeated the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, 109-95. In the first half, the Knicks were in the lead for the majority of the first quarter before the Bucks took the lead in the second quarter and led by two at 48-46 at halftime. After the Knicks tied the game at 48 early in the third quarter, the Bucks went on a quick 10-2 run to open up an eight-point lead before taking a 16-point, 84-68 lead heading into the fourth quarter. In the final quarter of play, New York was only able to get as close as 13 points as Milwaukee led by 15 or more points for the majority of the quarter before going on to win by 14. Giannis Antetokounmpo led the way for the Bucks scoring 30 points with 14 rebounds while Brook Lopez chipped in 20 points. Kevin Knox led the Knicks scoring 21 points. Despite making a season-low six threes, the Bucks turned the ball over a season-low eight times and held the Knicks to just 36.5 percent shooting. NEWS & NOTES MILWAUKEE BUCKS GAME NOTES DEC. 29, 2018 SCORING AT A HIGH RATE Averaging 116.5 points per game, the Bucks are the highest scoring team in the NBA this season and are on pace to be one of the highest scoring teams in franchise history. The current franchise record for scoring is 118.8 points per game, achieved by the 1969-70 team. MILWAUKEE BUCKS COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY BUCKS AND COUSINS SUBS TEAM UP TO BLOCK OUT HUNGER The Milwaukee Bucks and Wisconsin-based Cousins Subs have teamed up to Block Out Hunger statewide for the fourth consecutive season. Once again, Cousins will donate $50 to the Hunger Task Force for every blocked shot the Bucks record throughout the 2018-19 season. The Bucks have tallied 208 blocks so far this season, resulting in $10,400 to Hunger Task Force. BUCKS AND ATC TREES FOR THREES PROGRAM For the third season, the Milwaukee Bucks and American Transmission Co. (ATC) have teamed up to make schools across Wisconsin greener through the Trees for Threes program. As part of the program, ATC will donate one tree to be planted at a Wisconsin school for every 3-pointer the Bucks make at Fiserv Forum during the 2018-19 season. Currently, the Bucks have made 248 3-pointers at home this season, with plenty more on the way. COACH BUD S ASSISTS FOR HUNGER PROGRAM Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer has teamed up with Feeding Wisconsin to raise awareness and tackle hunger across the state. Budenholzer will donate $15 to Feeding Wisconsin for every assist the Bucks tally during the 2018-19 season, with a minimum commitment of $25,000.
