Parents, here are some important policies that you need to know.. General Policies Child(ren) may not miss 2 classes in a 7 week session without notification. Maywood Fine Arts reserves the right to drop students after 2 weeks of missed classes or lessons without notification. All students must arrive on time. Any student arriving late may be asked not to participate. If a music student arrives after fifteen minutes into their lesson, the instructor reserves the right to cancel lesson upon arrival. For everyone s safety, all children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian 18 years or older when coming to class as well as leaving after class. Students must be dressed properly and be equipped for all classes. Maywood Fine Arts retains the rights to any and all photographs or video footage. It is your responsibility to inform Maywood Fine Arts of any changes/updates in your email, phone number, address, or any contact information. Dance - Costume payments for the June recital must be made by Saturday, December 7, 2013. Costume payments are nonrefundable even if the student drops before the performance (studio will retain the costume). A late fee of $20.00 will be applied if this payment is not made on time. Tumbling - All tumblers are required to participate in the Flying High Competition. A small fee will be due by Saturday, March 15, 2014. If it is not paid by this date a $5.00 late fee will be applied. Music - There are no make-up lessons for music students. If you cancel a lesson it will not be made up. If the teacher must miss a lesson and Maywood Fine Arts cannot arrange for a substitute teacher the class will be prorated. Karate - There is an additional fee for any new colored karate belt earned during the year.

Stairway Dance Studio Policies Attendance is mandatory for classroom work and preparation for all recitals. Any child with poor attendance or 2 absentees in a row may be asked not to participate in finishing the year or performing in any final recitals. Uniforms are required for all classes. Leotards, tights, ballet shoes and tap shoes for all dance combination classes. Black leotards, pink tights and pink ballet shoes for all strict ballet classes. Only Pink ballet shoes purchased at Stairway or approved by Stairway will be accepted. Label your shoes! Boy dancers are required to wear sweat pants (no jeans!) and T-shirts. Boy s tap shoes must be black & white spectator taps. All Stairway dancers will participate in our annual dance show held at Proviso East High School in June 2014. All ballet dancers who have completed the year will participate in our annual classical ballet performance, unless you are attending a non-performing class. If costume fees are not paid on time or tuition is not up to date Stairway will not order your costume and cannot guarantee your dancer a costume for the June recital. Final tuition, extra costume fees, past bills and ticket money must be paid before recitals or your dancer may be pulled from our shows. Stairway of the Stars reserves the right to place children in the proper (appropriate) end of the year performance. Based on size and ability as the staff has determined. Special rehearsals may be called before any/all performances. We ask all parents to stay well informed on rehearsal schedules.

Flip Flop & Fly Tumbling School Policies Attendance is mandatory, anyone with excessive absentees may be asked not to complete the year or participate in the Flying High Competition. All tumblers who have completed the year will participate in our annual Flying High Competition in April 2014. An entry fee is required and is due by March 15, 2014. We ask all parents to stay well informed on rehearsal schedules. Competition Team Program Members of the Competition Team are determined by invitation ONLY! As children progress to the competitive team, they learn to appreciate their own abilities and responsibilities preparing them for competition. The team is structured according to USTA and AAU guidelines.

Karate Policies Attendance is mandatory, anyone with excessive absentees may not be able to continue in the class and may not be ready for the next Belt Promotion. Make-ups depend on safety concerns, space, equipment, and teaching ratios. We view makeups as a privilege, not a right. Uniforms are required for all classes. Karate Gis are worn by both boys and girls. Be sure to label your uniforms! Belt Promotions will occur througout the year. There will be an additional fee for each belt test taken. Music Policies Bring your child to class early. Also, make sure they bring the necessary items: music books, pencils, and notebook. We encourage parents to wait for their children so they can meet with the teacher after the lesson. Practice, Practice, Practice If your child is to benefit from lessons once a week, he/she must practice a minimum of 30 minutes, 5 days a week. We suggest that you set a time for practice and practice at that same time every day. Also sitting with your child while he/ she practices will help them progress. Holiday Recitals will be held Monday December 16th through Saturday December 22nd. Students will perform on the day of their lessons. The 5th Session of Music classes will be a short session. Tuition will be reduced to match the shortened schedule.

Drama Policies Attendance is mandatory for classroom work and preparation for all performances.
