We hunt this trophy in the Sierra Nevada mountains near Granada. Some parts of the area we can reach with the 4x4 and so this hunt is also possible for our senior hunters. The younger hunters among us can opt for the real stalking hunt and so go on foot to search for their coveted trophy. This is the smallest of the 4 ibexes in Spain both the trophy and the ibex itself. The main reason for this is the lower mountain range in which this ibex lives, as well as the extremely hot summers and the associated drought. Despite the lower peaks, the terrain is sometimes very steep and due to the bushy vegetation it is quite an intensive hunt. The animal population is healthy and old males abound, especially during the rut period. (late October - late December) The Ronda Ibex does not get the gray and black colored jacket like the other ibex, it stays more brown in color, even when they are old. This ibex is found in the Beceite Mountains close to the Mediterranean Sea between Tarragona and Murcia. The heavily wooded, lower slopes of this mountain range provide good coverage and food for the animals that live here. Especially the old men make good use of the many caves that are in the rocks and can thus become invisible for much of the year. But during the rut they come from their hiding place and every year very large trophies are stretched. The best time is between November and early January. This is the largest ibex trophy that can be hunted in Spain. The Gredos Mountains are relatively easy to climb from the north slopes but are steep and rugged on the southern slopes. The mountains are quite high, we hunt at about 2,000-3,500 m. But due to lack of heavy cover, the ibex can be hunted successfully during the hunting season. The ibex normally spend the afternoon hours in shady places in the higher places, but in the early evening they graze on the sunny slopes. The sunny hills do not have much high coverage. Hunters have almost 100 percent chance of success when shooting at long distances is not a problem. Monteria. Hunting Adventure organizes various monterias from November to February at the best estates in Spain. There are various possibilities in these driven hunts, but one can classify everything under 2 large types of monterias. The classic monteria and the trophy monteria. During the classic monteria there is mainly hunting on wild boars, female of red- and fallow deer with sometimes some small trophies free of red- and / or fallow stags. With the trophy monteria, the above-mentioned game species are usually supplemented with mouflons and the trophies of red- and fallow stags are also of much better quality. The prices of monterias can sometimes be very different and this is determined by various factors such as the estate, quality of the trophies, the bag, number of guns,..... The final programs with corresponding prices are also known later in the year (June / July), but we are already trying to give you an indication of the possibilities below. Classic Monteria Period: 15/10-15/02. Best period: early November to February. Depending on the Estate our offer: 25-35 hunters Hunting on red- and fallow deer, mouflon and wild boar... can vary per Estate.
