TOURNAMENT INFORMATION BENDIGO WEST NORTH GIPPSLAND SOUTH EAST
WELCOME SCOTT JAMIESON, MELBOURNE CITY FC PLAYER Thanks to McDonald s, you are taking part in the first ever Macca s City Cup. Today is going to be a big day of football, with loads of prizes on offer and the chance to progress to the Finals in October! When I was a kid I used to play football every spare moment I had I could never have dreamed that I would end up playing in England, Sweden, and all over Australia, or for the Socceroos. Maybe there is someone here today who might end up playing professionally! Football is the best way to make new friends, have unique experiences, and keep your mind and body really healthy. It can also teach you lots of other things that you don t always think about. You have to work as a team on the pitch, but also to support your teammates off the pitch. You can learn how to be a good winner, and also how to deal with the times when you don t win. Today, I hope that you will work hard, support your team, and make the people who are supporting you today proud too! The most important thing is that you have fun, and maybe you could meet some new friends too. On behalf of everyone at Melbourne City FC, good luck to everyone taking part, I hope you all have a great day. STEVE SHILLINGTON, McDONALD S FRANCHISEE Welcome to the 2018 Macca s City Cup! On behalf of McDonald s Victoria, it s our pleasure to welcome all teams, coaches and their families participating in the inaugural Macca s City Cup in 2018. With clubs coming from all around Victoria to play against one another in the qualifier tournaments in the city s North, East, South and West, plus regional locations Bendigo and Gippsland, we expect to see some of Victoria s best under 12 s on the pitch vying for a spot at the Finals in October. We ve made sure the tournament has great prizes on offer, with the ultimate Melbourne City FC Match Day Experience up for grabs for the best boys and girls team in Victoria! In addition to this, we will also award the Macca s Golden Ball to the most valuable player in the Macca s City Cup Finals, who will receive $1,000 cash for themselves and another $1,000 for their club. We encourage all players to use the Macca s On Your Team City Cup training kits provided to each team to ensure your skills are finely tuned for the tournament, and beyond! The Macca s On Your Team program aims to encourage young Victorians to get involved in community sport, socialise with peers and lead active lifestyles. With the FIFA World Cup in full swing, playing football is centre stage at the moment. We hope to one day see a Macca s City Cup player pulling on the green and gold for Australia! For parents and supporters on the side lines at the tournament (and those taking part too), we ve got you covered with exclusive offers thanks to McCafé - you ll find them on the Macca s City Cup app. Good luck out on the pitch, and we look forward to seeing you in your nearest McDonald s restaurant soon.
