TRAMP TECHNICAL COMMITTEE Minutes of Meeting held on the 31 August 2014 No. ITEM DETAILS ACTION 1.0 Attendance Susan Watts (SW), Pam Walker (PW), Laurie Zagari (LZ), Leo Kimble (LK), Melissa Read (MR), Tony Burton (TB) 2.0 Apologies Elliot Stratton (ES) 3.0 Acceptance of Minutes Accepted Previous Minutes 4.0 Business Arising None from Previous Minutes 5.0 For Decision None Making 6.0 For Discussion 6.1 Athlete Pathway Document Leo has explained the athlete pathway options and also produced a document/diagram to represent a recognised pathway. View is separate one required for tumbling discipline. Additionally inclusion of the minimum scores and DD required to qualify for each level for TRP and DM. MR will do draft. 6.2 Technical regulations & Event Handbook review Edits made to document during meeting by MR Zero Finals Elliot has taken notes and distributed comments. No decision has been made on zero finals. Agreement to leave as accumulative scoring although recognised not to be treated the same at nationals. To be reconsidered in 12 months. State Levels & state age 1 Vol Syncro allowed for a mix of leotards in Sync to enable teams mixed across clubs DMT inclusion of level 2 to use springboard in DMT Tumbling not offered at GWA events, clubs need to demonstrate enough entries to facilitate STT, remove note of STT not having events from the handbook. Finals at TRP events LZ suggests DMT finals need to be reviewed. Vote re: same process across all events for deciding the # of finalists, to be based on the number of paid entries. MR to circulate changes for final review before Oct 27 due date

Removal of minimum of 6 entries. TRP Qualification requirements changes made to have consistency between state and national scores. Suggestion if athletes do not qualify in age stream they can transfer to levels category for state comp. Same to apply to DMT. GWA Awards to include international scores/competitions, removal of events not sanctioned, including interstate qualifying events. Include note of Time of Flight if it is included in the scores. No competition available at moment for level 7 s in levels comp schedule. Consideration for Open category to be included in state levels. Point raised that additional qualifying event needs to be available for athletes to be able to qualify for State Comp. Judges Invitational removal of age categories Inclusion of levels 7-10 removal of time of flight finals to include top 3 and 50% of athletes make finals Creation of 3 rd Qualifying Event for Spring States entrants to be Level 1-6, Level 7, Levels 8-10. 6.3 Summer Camp TB has planned for January camp to be held at High Flyers. Coaches have been identified, planning for GWA to discuss funding for the event. TB to follow up further with GWA as required Proposed format Training 9am -12pm (seniors), 2 x 1 ½ hour sessions (juniors). No training on Wednesday. Would require equipment from Peak and Time of Flight machine. Potential issue is conflict with conference time however desire is to run the event anyway. Consideration needs to be taken of weather/heat in January and criteria for the attendees invited needs to be defined. Elliot has positioned with interested people in Eastern states. LZ noted that there has to be value for the coaches in attending the camp they should be able to observe and learn, not only coach. 6.4 Calendar Planning Update TRP_TC_August_2014

Will review formally once Event Review surveys are returned to MR. Qualification events to start in March. SW requested a qualifying event is set for end of 2015 to enable qualification for 2016 year events. SW also suggested additional qualifying event for Nationals 2015 to be conducted in December 2014. MR suggested formal request made to GWA. Gym Calendar will be sent to all to populate for next year events. MR to circulate draft calendar to TC for event dates 7.0 For Noting 7.1 Technical Director Report SW noted that information meetings will be continued as they have been very effective way of progressing items. Next meeting proposed to be Wednesday September 10 at 9.30am. 7.2 Coaching Co-ordinator Report Emailed to Committee. Ideas raised that the following should be included in conference: Strength and conditioning program, basic skills (levels 1-4), Salto Course (Leo), inclusion of volunteer sessions. Feedback to be provided to GWA S&D Section 7.3 Judging Co-ordinator Report LZ emailed. 7.4 Event Co-ordinator Report ES emailed to committee 8.0 Any Other Business Pam raised issue at the last comp, TC was charged $260 for food however only received $20 value. Pam will email letter to advise food supplied was not sufficient Laurie raised issue with the ratio of the number of volunteers to athletes at competitions. His club has less athletes than others however requirement is they provide the same number of volunteers. Susan will discuss with Adelaide to confirm what is expected 9.0 Next Meeting 2 November 2014 10.0 Meeting Close 12.45pm TRP_TC_August_2014

Technical Director Report Trampoline Technical Committee August 31 Meeting The TC committee members had an informal meeting in July, attendees: Leo Kimble, Elliott Stratton, Aarron Wake, Pam Walker and Susan Watts This meeting was an opportunity for the TC to informally discuss numerous TRP related issues in an informal environment. It was most successful with a number of positive outcomes, these meetings will become a regular part of the TRP program in order to assist us moving forward. Not only will the overall management of TRP Sports WA benefit greatly but our formal GWA TC meetings should become more efficient as a result of our discussions. Susan Watts TRP Technical Director

TRP Judging Co-ordinator Report August Meeting I do not have much to report except we do have numbers in the lower end of the Judges accreditations. The Clubs need to be prepared that the courses for the higher level accreditation will be early next year and people will need to pencil the dates in to make themselves available for the courses. The courses will be shorter than in the past to achieve higher accreditation e.g. Intermediate Bronze is only 6 hours. The latest news is that all existing Intermediate Bronze Judges can now update their tumbling section which will only take two hours and is free. GWA will advise when these courses will be run and we will need to pencil in this update.

Gymsport Section Report August 2014 Gymsports Section Notes and Information 1) Spotters Course at Spring State Championships is being held prior to the first session on Saturday morning (13 th November). Applications for the course will be sent out by GWA shortly. 2) GWA Event Review Surveys have been distributed to both Clubs and Technical Committees to gauge their feedback on the current GWA calendar events. This review is part of the GWA Gymsports Section Strategic activities, linking in to the GWA Strategic Plan. Feedback from both parties will be used to assist GWA and the TC s in planning for events in 2015. 3) September Gymsports & Judging Co-ordinators Meeting (4 th Sept) will not be used for calendar planning, since the GWA draft calendar cannot be completed until the dates for Australian Championships have been made available. A replacement Calendar Planning meeting will be set for early October. The extra time will also allow for the feedback from the GWA Event Review to be collated and findings distributed to the TC s. 4) Draft versions of both the TRP Technical Regulations & Event Handbook are due to be submitted to the GWA office by 28th October. The drafts will then be sent out to clubs for feedback before the final versions are completed in December. 5) GWA GymFest Sunday 23rd November at the State Gymnastics Centre. There is a circus theme to this year s event and there are many circus-related activities planned, as well as displays from a variety of gymsports. Nicole Colev is the director of the event and is keen to speak to any ACR clubs regarding their involvement in this event launchpad@gymnasticswa.asn.au 6) Intermediate Tumbling Coaching Course Reminder Saturday 15 th November. 7) 2015 GWA Conference 16 th to 19 th January 2015 feedback from the TRP TC is due into GWA ASAP so that the content for Conference can be finalised and released to clubs.
